a few changes have magically occurred over the winter - and a few more are still to come.
the *borrowed* motocross numberboard has finally given way to a hornet nose cone (53 is not my number!)
i have been given a GSXR K6 tail unit and this has gone on, to make it easier to reach the floor AND have the rear high enough so that i dont grind the belly pan and the link pipes.
i have bought a spare tank to go on as my old one had a leak which kept getting worse. the frame has been repainted by parkinsons and none of us wanted it to be spoilt by a fuel leak so the tatty spare tank is on!
the engine has had new piston rings as i had barely any compression on the rear cylinder. i've had new head bearings and new exhaust collets and that's about it! (other than new belts and new oil and new chain etc - oh and i need to put on some new brake pads)
i've now got a set of part worns on ready for trackdays at brands and snetterton, and am off to Guadix for 3 days tracktime at the end of February. i was lucky enough to win some tyres in the raffle at the end of last season's dinner dance so these will go on on the last day in Guadix.
hopefully after that i can look at getting a nice paint job (i dont want to risk it til after Guadix!).
My hand has been healing nicely and although the riding position has changed with the new seat, it feels better. I've also got a quick action throttle fitted which will help my dainty wee hand as well.
Season looks like it will start at Mallory on 30th March, not my favourite track and if it wasnt the first of the year i woudl seriously think of giving it a miss!
the colours havent come out great as the picture was taken on a mobile phone.
Massive thanks to Parkinsons for all their help and to David at Solo Corse for the seat unit.
