My first bike and one that I'm completely in love with.

The looks i find are much smoother, easier on the eyes than the newer models which look worse than Peter Kay in a bikini.
For the noob riders out there it will just fill you with confidence and is very forgiving (trust me).
Handling is great and will chew up the bends better than my mates R6.
Comfort wise its the best I've tried out, with more of an up right riding position compared to the 'RR' which for someone who's nutritionally challeneged like myself means i can still write and get out of the bed in the morning.
Performance wise it'll keep up with most 600 sports bikes but is a tad down (20 BHP) on the R6 which does show. theres a huge flat spot below 5 grand with the powerband kicking in around 7-8, haven't really had the balls to look down when this is about to happen .
If I had to pick on one thing it would be the lighting which is more at home in Soho, very poor indeed, full beam is ok but other road users seem to get the hump so night riding is interesting to say the least.

On a whole a great bike, its criminally insane that Honda have axed it from there line up but hey, looks like it'll have to be the Blade next time round for me.

Good bikes those i had one as my first bike, then wanted better speed & handling....& along came the k6....

They are user friendly bikes though & excellent to learn on & they handle well, are a bit heavy though...Glad i started out with mine though rather than a r6, gixxer, etc they can be quite forgiving for a 600

Only one thing though your mates R6 should wip that hands down in the right hands....;)

without a doubt although i felt in the corners mine was quicker, he owns me on the straight, he wants to try mine out when weathers better so i'll try his out again and see, probably was me not being used to it.

Thats a good write up mate! they do look uber cumfy! one of my mates had one when i had my G ninja...he had a CBR F Sport apparently........and they were pretty much the same performance wise! and our bikes were THE most cumftable ones in our group at the time! we could rack up hundreds of miles with out uber sore bums and wrists! all in all! Awsome bikes - Both The CBR F and the ZX6R G.....DONT get me started on the bloody srad! lol

I rode a 600F about a week ago for the first time - one of the carb models.

I was so suprised with how comfortable and easy to ride they are. 2-up, they are just as good. You could definately travel a lot of miles on it, which is probably why so many of the second hand ones have such high mileage.

Was dead impressed.

99' plate onwards they went from steel frames to alloy frames saving loads of weight, still carb'd but much nicer.
2001 saw the FI (fuel injected) version get launcher but it drinks like an alcoholic on holiday only managing 70 miles compared to my 120 from my tank. mind you he does ride in a low gear all the time.
