For those of you that might be interested , Got me bike yesterday and went for a ride out down southend sea front today,Its awsome with plenty of ooooomph, especially from the lights. Theyre red, Click it up to 2nd gear, Orange then green, give it abit of stick and wahooo .(of she gos like a fcuking rocket). The power and gearing is very differant from my last bike and will take some getting used to especially with the extra 6th gear. Need some akros for it as the engine is quiet due to being standard as I like to hear that roar. Very easy to ride though and very smooth power. Its slightly heavy through traffic but not much of a problem .Not much of a review but it,ll do me.
For those of you that are not interested ,please dont read the above. Tony.

yes I recon you,ll be fine , These bikes are very easy to ride and I can see you ditching the sports bike in favour of the sm. They are great fun, Go for it, The big ktms are abit priccie, but no regrets from me and I didnt even test ride. you can pick up the xtx 660 very cheap. e.g. 06plate low milage for about £2800.00. But you might find unless you get abiggan you might have trouble keeping up with the likes of ginger ninjas, jinxed jixxers and boring cbrs. Hell theres enough Arse in the air ,head down bikes out there. Go for slittle class mate.
There I said it. U no you want 1.

Just a gentle word of advise (warning) large capacity V’s have a habit of stalling without any prior indication when new, as the engines can be a bit tight. This normally happens around traffic lights when the whole world and his dawg are staring at you!
Use/mileage normally cures the problem, although my SP still has the odd cough'n' splutter thru the air box.

The only reason V Twin's stall when new is because most of the time the throttle bodies need synching properly and the CO needs setting ;)
Nothing to do with the engine being tight, you would be surprised at how far out the throttles can be and still run fine at anything above 1000rpm :)
The SP's had similar problems :)

Point taken, but my Direstorm was the same and that had carbs! Both bikes had the obligatory performance tweaks (zorst/filter etc) + dyno time to set them up properly….
Anyhow enjoy the KTM tallboy, I’m hoping to purchase one of their quads, once all the fuss has died down and the dealers will cut some slack on the retail price.

KTM 950 SM...:laugh2 Tested one earlier in the year, up in North Yorks. Did the Stokesly to Helmsley TT course on it with 6 inches of snow down to the roadside...was bloody brilliant!......till I met a police officer as I crested one of the rises on the back wheel and had to disappear a bit quick...lol. Super bike with loads of character and sooooooooo much fun. :skip
