Having read the instruction to fit my new pyramid hugger it looked really simple' Just remove the chainguard, remove the nut form the suspension pivot fit the hugger over the bolt then put the chainguard bolts back in, then tighten the nut on the suspension back up to 108nm using a torque wrench.

But i cant get to the nut on the suspension properly, i don't want to take the wheel off to do this as i only really have basic stuff here, but it looked a pretty simple job.

Has anyone else fitted a hugger that used the suspension pivot as a mounting point and if so then how did you do it?

Here is a pic from each side showing the bolt I'm trying to get at.

try a extension on the socket

May give you some play

People on other ER-6 forums say it was easy to fit.

Unless some kindly soul wants to come and give me a hand for a case of beer. i might just admit defeat and take it to my nearest garage. Though i will be paying for the embarrassment of having them do it in 20mins.

No stand for the bike, and being new to all this i don't really want to do that.

surely if a socket wont get on the bolt cause its to close to the frame, then you would just use a spanner??

You would think so, i have spoken to a few people that fitted this and they said they managed fine with a socket on an extension bar. None of the spanners i have are slim enough to fit either. I'll see if i can find a slimwall socket i guess.

Can you hold it tight enough to loosen it by turning the bolt with an allen key, then just spinning it off?

Thats my new plan, but it will have to wait for tomorrow, though im not sure if i would be able to get it tight enough again with an allen key.

Ok its done, i was just being silly. Bought a long extension and the whole thing took me about 10mins to fit.
