Heh, first time i was fine on the bike, took to it quite quick. The 2nd time i went on the road, and couldnt put 2 and 2 together.....doing 40 downa 30 road probably didnt help lol ).
Me thinks ill be fine this time. Ive gained much more knowledge about bikes from various people on here, and specially Danjaman, so i shouldnt have any probs this time.

Im not worrying anymore, i just want to get it out of the way so i ride my own bloody bike!
Im behind on how i wanted things planned out, as i want to do my full access in July, so i need road experience between now and then. By July my gixxer should be ready to roll, and ive already chosen my next bike too.

As for the MT-03, ive always liked them, but i refuse to pay out more money on a used one, than i can pay on a brand new one. At the moment, only Woodfordmotorcycles seems to have one for sale, even evilbay has none!

on a twist and go i agree but i did mine on thursday and as a car driver i found it more challenging than i thought it would be. forgot to cancel my indicators a few times which could have been thought to be dangerous i suppose. if someone without a car license tried on a geared bike i could understand it taking 2 days.
on a different note SradChris46, you didn't ride down Goldcrest Dr. off Greens Farm Lane today did you?
bayonet
30-03-2008, 09:12 PM
You don't really fail a CBT. A pass certificate is based on the instructor's opinion of whether you'd be safe to ride off home on your own and arrive in one piece.
I've been riding since you could start out on a 250cc bike with no training whatsoever, just left to your own devices, CBT is definitely a better idea than that. I can remember either stalling or wheelying with no real control when trying to pull away. 5 minutes on a CBT would've sorted that out.
My personal opinion is that car drivers should do a CBT as well. I think new car drivers should learn the basics of pulling away and gear changing away from the public highway, so that when they finally get onto it they can concentrate all their energies on reading the road etc. It's fairer on the learner driver and the people already on the road too.

Yeah heard it then looked out the window, remembered because don't get many riders in full leathers down my road and billers in general, and the lack of rear seat (what is that thing called that you put on the rear seat?)

Well, im not really a youngster, but you were right...the gears got me, the first time riding a bike on me own was quite daunting. I was thinking it would be easy peasy, but when you find out about things you have never hheard of, and then have to time the clutch and throttle etc etc, things get kinda confusing....for me anyways!
Anyhow, im confident enough now, so i cannot wait for thursday! I just hope the weather holds up!

Nope, i messed up. I stopped in a 'keep clear'.....not so bad, and i confused a mini round about with a big one.
I did better than last time! :jumping2
In all seriousness, i let myself down. I think i went in to the CBT ( look im not saying test! ) a bit over confident. My own fault. I guess i was a bit nervous too of other vehicles after a ped user shunted me in the test ground, poor sod.
Im going back in 2 weeks, and im bloody getting this thing done.

What you do take it wide and ride on the pavement !!!:grin2
Mate, it might not be a test but it still needs to be passed, some peeps find it hard to deal with the pressure of being observed, but it will come soon and you will look back and wonder why you were bothered at all.
WHEN you pass the next time it will be a distant memory !
Dont let it get to you, and if you need help just ask :rockon

Cheers Guv. I think what may be an issue that i have, and ive only just thought about it because you mentioned being observed, is that im too used to teaching people things myself, not the other way around....if that makes sense.

Im at Academy. To be honest, and i mean no disrespect to anyone, but it doesnt matter how fussy or strict the instructor is in my opinion....if your not safe on the road, then they will not pass you, which im glad, as the last thing i want is to injure omeone whilst riding. My two cock ups cost me, but its something i have learned for the future.
