Ok I was going to leave this post till she was with me.. but after receiving a bout of good news ;) I thought id share this with you lot.

Superstacker is back in about a week, and we are planning a proper eurotrip excursion.. (he wants to go 'Morroco' whereas i think thats a little ambitious)

So i figured a few days out hitting the foreign roads, might as well take a new girl site-seeing ;):grin1

So... i'd like you all to meet 'Becky':grin2

Shes 28 years old having been 'born' in 1979 and is Canadian.

Right what is that 2e?

'She' is a 1979 CB750KZ and is my new 130mph toy ;)
It was great fun winding my fiance up with the 'ooh im taking a canadian girl i found on the net to europe..' i well recommend it, she didnt speak to me a whole day!! Bliss!:grin2

Anyway, when i showed her the pics she calmed down a bit.. i think i got called a few names.. but be wiser not to mention them here ;)

The previous owner, a bit of a comedian chap, named her becky and changed the 4-4 exhaust into a 4-2 ;)

The advertisement can be viewed here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110243371730&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=001

it cracked us up and had me sold instantly.. and for £400 i dont think its that bad.. ive got to pick it up sometime this week am awaiting the ramp for my van and fitting the parts to go get her.. i cant wait.
I asked about the fork seal and he described it as 'not a problem.. just her make ups running a bit.. you know what they're like..;)':laugh1

Ill need to do a bit of TLC to get her back on the road... forkseals, a fuel tap (though thats optional) mot, and tax..:D Plus im considering a flyscreen or givi touring screen to buffer some wind as i've been reading up on these bikes... apparently they aren't the best handlers over a ton.. but that suits me fine.. because i dont speed... officer ;)

oooh as an added bonus i managed to get 'dirt cheap' insurance on her too!

£144.99 all in £100 excess from the insurance company in the extended members section.. and thats without 15% off.. so i advise you guys definately sign up for it, itll be the best £10/25 you spend!!:grin1

Anyway.. looking forward to picking her up:D Will take updated pics when i have done so :)

I give up....

Correct:D

I ignored every bit of advice given, never mind the fact the post actually suggested more bikes as the new transalp was a hell of alot more than i would care to spend, plus insurance was incredibly high.:grin1

If you dont believe me, go re-read the post and you will see nothing was decided.. i bid on other bikes that were thrown in as 'good bikes' on that post.. but got outbidded.. i even bidded on a diversion which was recommended on here as a touring bike.:grin2

And no i dont do too bad, because my dads buying the bike and im giving him the money (rather than do it through the bank) hence the reason why my ps3 is up for sale (now £450ono btw).:grin3

Other bikes in the running (but lost them to 2 second bidders) were:

Yamaha Tenere
Suzuki DR650
Cagiva Elefant
BMW K100
Honda Transalp (old model)

And many others i cant remember.. my ebay list was full of em plus i was scouring bike trader... but please.. dampen my day with your unnecessary post..

Thanks a lot:shooter

2e you will be lucky if she does 130 mph ,they didnt even do that when they were brand new, just a cpl of pointers with the sohc 750 engine is the oil filter bolt is only 13mm and it rounds off you can buy a 17mm headed oil filter bolt , your new bike weighs in at 260kgs dry approx if you ever have to do the cam chain or head gasket the engine has to come out , make sure if you use it through the winter you keep the front calipers clean not just on the out side but around the pistons aswell as they have a very bad habit of seizing , the main reason for the previous owner changing the exhaust was the original one would cost over £1500 take care and enjoy her lol

Do you know what, I actually like that. A bloke I work with has a cb400, and with a bit of TLC they cab look very nice indeed.

You'll be very good friends with a Mr David Silver though, I dare say!
