Thats the first thing my mum said! Gosh hasn't he got big ears! He is super cute, getting braver today, been out mi-owing at us then hides back in his little house.

Mines staying indoors, at least till he's fully grown, and we get lots of learner drivers round here so I might keep him as a house cat permanently, Take him in the garden on a harness or somethin but would worry constantly if he was out!

Jetski, we got him late last night, he has a full belly and ive seen him drinking, he was shut in the bathroom with his bed, bowl and litter tray last night but he hasnt been to the loo yet, going to buy food in a sec but a bit worried that he hasnt even had a wee all night! Should i worry or is he just a bit scared and thats effecting him?

What am I the Effing cat lady?

Ok ok :D Point taken :D

Change of environment is very stressful for a cat/kitty, so yes that could well be why he's holding on to it. Just keep putting him in his litter tray, he'll soon get the hang of it.

If he's eating and drinking, then he's not too stressed out at all and obviously quite happy, so there's no need to worry.

How much litter have you got in the tray? A little tiny weeny kitten won't actually let out much wee (aah, check me out) so if you've got alot of litter in there you might not notice.

Just thinly cover the bottom of the try so you can tell.

There shouldn't be much to worry about - just keep an eye on him. If he starts looking like he's trying to go for a wee, but seemingly doesn't, then its a problem, but that young its VERY unlikely indeed :)

I use a wood based litter for the ferrets so he's got that, but he doesnt like touching it, so gonna get some normal catsan type stuff to see if he finds that better till he gets used to the wooden stuff.

He is still looking for his brothers (there is one brother left and it would cheer him up to have his brother with him..... Kidding Dan, im kidding, one kitten is more than enough work with the 4 ferrets and snake lol)

Thanks Jules, Knew i was worrying just coz he's so ickle and i worry too much, but needed someone else to say it ;)

Awwww....He is adorable! reminds me of one of my cats when he was young! HE will grow into his ears i can assure you! NO he WILL NOT use the ferret stuff you have used. Yeah dont let him out side the house at ALL until you have given him his booster shots. And have you decided yet if he gets to keep his balls?

The ferret stuff is wood based CAT LITTER! And he just used it! Dont think Ive ever praised a cat for taking a crap before, altho i still praise the ferrets for using the litter tray when they do. But he used it, had shut the living room door coz the ferrets are playing in their run in the garden and we didnt want him getting out and we heard the litter being kicked around, snuck out there 5 minutes later and he was sitting in his bed looking innocent.

He's got really brave tonight, been out rubbing on the table and watching the ferrets bouncing around through the (Closed) patio doors.

No he doesnt get to keep his balls, they will be coming off as soon as he is old enough, need to find out which boosters he needs and when, and how old he has to be before he can be snipped and tied :)

And i kinda like his big ears, but i know he'll grow into them, he's just adorable, keep spotting new cute things like the symmetry of the markings on his back, or the stripes on his tail, or the target markings on his sides. Im so in love with that little kitten, its insane!

And dont tell anyone, but i think Dans loving the kitten and the ferrets too, he's outside cutting holes in cardboard boxes so that the ferrets have something to play with in their run! Mind you, i dont think Baby has bit him.................. yet :laugh1

You probably know all this but ill say it anyway ;)

I find it easier to see any problems with clay based cat litter..
Keeping them in is a good idea... and watch out for the awful fleas, these blighters always manage to get on newborn kittens, i dont understand how.:reading

Also, if the kitten does get fleas you will need to re-worm him too, as all fleas carry worms. (as if you dont have enough problems):grin1

Its worth deflea-combing him just incase, and you should worm a new kitten anyway (hes gonna love you for it too, though i think he'll love you less when you make him half a male):D.

He is a real cute cat though... and man i wish i could buy some of those kittens for a tenner a time.. but my dads allergic to cats!:laugh1 (not that that bothers me much...but he has been awfully nice to me as of late..)

I spot-on'd him on his second day coz the last thing i need is flea's with the ferrets around. Will pick up some wormer too for him later on. Im allergic to cat flea bites too so will be very very careful to avoid them arriving.

The ferrets wont use clay litter coz of the way it feels on their paws and i prefer wood based anyway, it breaks down to damp sawdust and can go in the compost bin in the garden. Dont really wanna be buying a massive bag of litter for the ferrets, plus a bag of clay litter for the kitten.

He's not half vocal, little sod is driving Dan up the wall with the mi-owing, bless him. He hates being alone in the bathroom at night, wandered in late last night and he'd shunned both his beds and was asleep in the sink! lol Is learning the word NO too, when he wants to go in the kitchen or get in behind the tv.

Thinking Hades (Leader of the underworld/hell), Diablo (The Devil) or Zeus (King of gods) for name's been on Kitten name websites and baby name websites and that's the favourite's at the moment. :grin2
