I did advanced training in the car over ten years ago with essex police.

I always read 'roadcraft' and 'twist of the wrist II' books each year before getting back on the bike.

I was just wondering how many on here have done some form of advanced road training..?

I have done bikesafe in the past at the Ace and I have organised it for work as well in couple of weeks (fingers crossed that the weather is ok).

Well worth doing but not a replacement for advanced training like RoSPA or IAM

I did advanced training about 4-5 years ago.

It was a 3 day course and was the most fun ive had on a bike!

Bloody knackering, but heaps of fun....we were covering about 300 odd miles a day all over essex and sometimes a little bit beyond......i wish i could remember how to get to some of the roads!!!!!

Done my IAM Test about 5 odd years ago and its meant to be a qualification for life (provided you pay em every year!!!) I now have to re take my test!! I personally think i would rather go Rospa route as you have to be re tested every 3 years so your knowledge etc has to stay current

Also a member of EAMG who meet at channels GC they are not affiliated to any organistation but will train you up to take the IAM or ROSPA test and also train you beyond that as well if you want to its very reasonable price wise and you get shed loads of instruction and loads of advanced training for a lot lot less than a trackday ! good group of blokes and mostly sportsbike riders PM me if you want further details
