Problems: Leaking right-fork seal, cheap job, needs mot, tax, and then shes on the road.. have had a read through the mountains of paperwork.. it seems she is all legit.. i even have the importation documents from 1997 through the Military Of Defence. :)

History is that she was found by a RAF Serviceman whilst serving over in Canada (Scotland MOD) and he brought her, then brought her back into the UK and kept her all the way up to 2002.

In 1999 she was pretty much rebuilt completely.. i have no reason to disbelieve the previous owner with anything said (much a different story than the CBX;)) The guy was thorough with the bike, everything is in great condition, a few genuinely rusty parts.. chrome has stylish specks of copper colored rust here and there.. but as you can see shes in good condition for a 28 year old bike! ;)

As well as all that, she came with a trickle charger, manual, and a brand new air filter and brake pads.. so an absolute bargain for £400 it seems.

Will be putting her into the shop tommorow to get the seal sorted and an mot slapped on her... hopefully will have the spare cash from the ps3 sale to pay for the rest of the stuff (The GT is also due an MOT on the 10th May):grin1

Anyway, she looks and sounds brilliant, although i was dubious at the slight rattle but it dissapears at 1500 revs.. so could just need a good run..;)

Nice one 2e, But are you really happy or just making do with the cash that you had.
I dont think you are if you dont mind me saying.
I know it doesnt matter to you what I think, but you could, (When the cbx and the GT have mots,) sell them along with your PS3 and put all your loverly big chunk of cash towards something that you really want. Bandit, hornet something like that. Only a surgestion.

Good luck with the new bike Callum, you can tell its an import by the spoked wheels, UK bikes had the ****ty comstar wheels, spokes are way better, is that engine painted ?? as I thought they were silver from new not that it matters a carrot.
Rumbley rattlley noises below 1500 rpm can sometimes be cured by a simple carb balance even though it sounds like it is coming from the clutch, a common noise on the old CB's
I have a set of gauges if you need them set up.

Look good mate. Only lets it down is the seat. How about a few shots without the pannies and top box???

Hope this one lastest loner than the CBX did.

If i remember rightly from the paperwork, the previous owner did have the engine repainted BUT it apparently is original paint job (unlike the spray on-burn off stuff on the CBX).

Yeah my dad said he reckons the carbs need balancing.. i have no clue how to do it though so anyone who might be able to help let us know :)

Also the paint job is jaquar black, not the car, the aircraft.. seeing as the guy was in the MOD he apparently got it sprayed in, decals/badges reapplied and laquered.. the finish is fairly good considering.. plus it meant no other CB is the same which scores plus points ;)

There was a scotoiler on it according to the paperwork... but i have no idea what happened to that.:grin2
