hey finally got back on the road again this weekend!!! (even if it is only a scooter im riding!)

but i had a problem on sunday when i was riding down the A130. All of a sudden all the power went to the back wheel! im guessing because i have aprilia sr125 its the belt drive (or known as the variater belt) has either come loose or snapped! (if anyone else knows what else it could be please let me know!)

well my main problem is i dont have a clue how to get to the belt! is it behind the engine housing? because i dont want to order a new belt and find out that it isnt actually the belt snapped! its something else!

any help would be appreciated.

cheers Ross

Ah i remember this happened to sonofabiker on the A13 a few years back.

Im guessing you can rag the pants off it, and no forward motion will ensue?

Most scoots should be the same,

Theres a massive cover on the side near the wheel, that is most likely held on by about 8 screws with 10-13mm heads. The cover will be located roughly where you;d find a chain on a bike.

Undo these screws and REMEMBER WHERE THEY CAME FROM, as they will be some long and some short.

Remove the cover and the drive belt should be there :)

thanks. i thought that so i asked my girlfriend to do it for me! (as the bike is at hers!) and her and her dad could not find anything remotely looking like a belt or where a belt would go????

and yes u can rag the S**T out of it and it will not go anywhere. what would be the main cause of this? just age?
