View Full Version : Question Insurance: Recommended Companies?
After finally getting sense out of the company alledgely issuing super-cheap insurance (i cant name who they are due to rules) but i was told today the policy cant go ahead (hence the payment refusal) as they could only do it when im 19 or older.. how pathetic is that (seeing as im 19 in three months time:shooter)
Anyway, i've hunted around for a cheaper quote (with the extras the original quote was £208 odd) .
I have two battling cheap quotes ive found
The first is with A Quote, who im currently insured with, i know they give european cover and havent had any issues with them but then again, ive never needed to contact them either. Price: £478.66 (online quote from tesco website):grin2
The second was a ringback from Kwik Fit Insurance, ive never known anyone to be insured with these guys, but they bettered my current quote above with a quote for £445.
Has anyone been with Kwik Fit before, i've read a few reviews (which aren't good) but these are for cars...:reading
I reckon Aquote would lower the above quote a bit, possibly even beat them.. but thought id ask what Kwik Fit are like and if anyone has or does use them for insurance??:grin3

Try these people, they can be fairly good, ring them though rather than do it online....

im in work in the morning fella so will look at your quote for you then
Sorry, forgot to put the link in! :grin2
what are you like!!?? lol!:clap:laugh1
:) Funny you should mention Equity Redstar.. they are the ones 'Kwik fit' have quoted me for, and the ones who were cheapest in the first place (it was the broker who caused the issue)... I think tbh, ill either spend extra and go with A Quote or see if they can match it...
Oh mike thanks for that mate.. ill speak to you tommorow then before making a decision.. thanks alot....:clap

Their all crooks....... Do what I do, phone company "Y" and tell them that company "X" has quoted you such'n'such (not too cheap) and see if they beat it? (50p says they do).
REMEMBER you haven't rung company "X" as you just playing them off against each other, so don't go so cheap that they smell a rat or decline to quote. If your realy tight you could go on to ring company "Z" using the genuine quote you got from company "Y"....... Remember alot of the insurance companys are joined at the hip, and just use different trading names in order to extract you hard earned cash, so do yer homewerk right and you could save £££'s
HOWEVER..................
Always! and I mean ALWAYS read the small print when your policy arrives, and make sure you get the cover you require and that your bike is covered when at home address/garage/lock-up etc, etc. Insurance companys have soooo many get-out clauses nowdays, it pays to take 10mins read the small stuff that normally gets ignored.
New bike? I'd recomend GAP insurance, 1-off payment for 3years of cover, and the "shortfall" between the final insurance pay-out ( If it's stolen/wriiten-off) and original invoice value is covered. Personally I don't even bother with a bike alarm, it's easier to use "GAP" insurance + ttft. cheaper too, and no chav alarm fob on a lanyard round yer neck :D

RIGHTCHOICE INSURANCE, or Mike as he likes to be called, haha
Have used Bennetts up to now. £75 a year including cover for Europe can not be bad, and I like their service too.
But I will give Rightchoice a try.
