Sorry mate, Im a computer div. Ask Diawi, he knows his stuff.
how the hell do i get rid of this :shooter warning bubble.. please help its driving me nuts.
Wayhay.. seems like im a needed man today dont it! haha
Right first of all try this
Click Start --> select Run --> In the box, type cmd --> press ENTER --> Run the chkdsk utility by typing in the following command:
chkdsk /f
thats the first thing you should do...
Do you use AOL and their services or was it something that was installed with the computer (pc world are the worst for this).
If it came with the computer i would suggest removing it, it does nothing but f**k up the computer.. so unless you HAVE to use it (e.g. your internet is with aol etc etc).
You can always get onto AOL support:laugh1 I hear its brilliant mate!:grin1:clap

:grin2 Oh boy this is going to take a while...
First of all.. AOL support are going to be useless.. and your phone bills going to be massive for the time you'll spend on hold, im telling you this from experience, i might not know much but computers are my forte ;)

When did this start happening?
Try a 'System Restore' back to an earlier point (may bring back some of the files)
Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> System Restore
Then reboot.. (should do so automatically)
and if THAT dont work... well... ill keep trying..
Nothing is simple with AOL mate, you need three different bits of software to remove it! As it helpfully reinstalls itself upon uninstall...:grin2

still doing it.
Well i know if you ring AOL this is what they will tell you
'your c drive files are corrupt its nothing to do with us':grin2
Search your c drive using the built in search function on xp for 'aolsoftware.exe' or whatever the file is called
once found note its name and then rename it to something else e.g. aolfile.exe
then reboot, that way when it goes to find it, it wont be able to load.. this is a temporary work around which will stop the errors but may prevent something working aol wise..
if not then uninstall and reinstall AOL (its what they will tell you to do)

Sound like a file hasnt been fully uninstalled you could try downloading CCleaner its free and will help unistall fully and clean the registry

Use that after you've done an uninstall.. otherwise you'll be left with random files..
