I wouldnt risk damaging the rims. Chuck your wheels in your mates car and get him to take you to a tyre fitting garage, It,ll cost you a few quid but thats the way id go. Not much help really, am I, soz.

Universal Tyres, Hornchurch - one of the blokes in there is a keen biker. As Talltone says, might cost you a couple of quid but gets them done properly.
Only open til 12 on a Saturday though.

Mark, unless im mistaken theres about three tyre places along your road. Kwik-fit being one of them. All you have to do is walk them a few hundred yards, rather than miles to these places. Chuck them a fiver they will take them off. simple jobs a gooden.
