Probably not, its not going to affect any politicians from up there :D
The sad fact is that crude oil prices are expected to rise to $200 a barrel by late Autumn to Christmas, if you think petrol prices are high then wait till you see what that little jump will do to them :(
What amazes me is that when we had the fuel protests back in September 2000, everyone was raging about the price going up beyond 86p a litre, but next to nothing happened when it started hitting £1 nearly a year ago, and its all a bit too late really in my opinion :(
One thing is certain, Gordon Brown will take will be known for the greediest Chancellor (lets face it Alistair Darling is arsehole operated by Brown, which is quite apt really :D and he is only running with the budget that was passed on to him) in history and an even worse Prime Minister.
I bet Tony Blair (who for all the bad advice he took and acted on) was laughing his dangley bits off when Brown went for the throat, he probably thought well you have ballsed the economy up, you might aswell take over whilst people dont like me, make a proper reputation for me and let me sod off to somewhere warmer :D
Labour are on the way out, there isnt any way they are going to stop the rot :D

Sadly I dont think it will make any difference.
Everytime oil rises the government coin in more tax and they must be loving the uncertainty in the markets causing all this.
I say demonstrate against the government and a vote of no confidence rather than a fuel protest :clap

I just thought it was ironic a few months ago when Good Ol' Gordon Brown went to the oil companies saying 'You should produce more oil so the price can come down.'
When he should have said 'I know Labour Politicians, lets make petrol cheaper by lowering the rate of tax on it. Say from 86p per litre to about 70p per litre. Instantly saving 16p per litre to the motorist who will thank us all. Yes, we will have to re-think the whole tax offensive to make up the short fall from somewhere else (road tax for example, or speeding fines...) but the country will be happy.'
Can anyone actually see that happening though...?

i think good for them i hope they get some where! tho i dought it because if they do get their way then people will protest up and down the country to drop taxes and change laws. they will never back down unless there is a large riot. and i wounder how much petrol these bikes/taxis/lorries will be using that day?

Police clamp down and new laws which make protests extremely difficult prevented the organisers of the 2000 petrol protest from staging a repeat protest.
Protesters are more or less terrorists nowadays since such activity qualifies the definition of a terrorist in The Terrorism Act. It seems the powers that be only want you to protest at the ballot boxes if you can remember your gripes by then. :laugh1:laugh1:laugh1:laugh1

Nah, no cigar mate
That would be Labour screwing up their Green credentials, the Tory will love it tho.
High tax on fuel is a PC green tax which is Labour's main green credentials to make up for their lack of innovative ideas to deal with the issue :laugh1:laugh1:laugh1
