Where would you recommend me to go to get some new tyres fitted and balanced? As local to chelmsford as possible.
Thanks

Yeah had my tyre changed there, spot on. Just up the road from the prison on the corner.

same as, used them for years.
its worth checking there tinernet prices 1st, as sometimes they quote a fiver or so more, but they will match them.

Sounds like the place to go. Thanks for the recommendation :)
They don't show on-line the tyre that I'm wanting to try, the new Maxxis supermaxx. But and have found some 300 mile part worns for sale at £50 less than new price.

Is that worth the saving? Or should I just go new?

personal choice i suppose . one way i suppose you wont have to scrub them in . but then again you dont know for sure where they have been lol . personally i wouldnt buy used tyres and being on my bike i would only feel comfy with a better known brand . still come on down the price is right :laughboun

Yup universals are good. The youngsters come and go but same old boy there has been fitting bike tyres since I was a teenager err cough cough years ago.:grin2
He's been there 30 years apparently so I'd imagine he's getting the hang of it. :grin2
They've never damaged or chipped a wheel yet not even my Dymags. It's usually a tenner through the counter fitted and balanced.

Maxxis are known well enough for them to be used on Superbike testing, that particular model of tyre got really good reviews in one of the recent magazines when it was used on a sportsbike on track too ;)
I would agree about the part worns to some extent but if i know where they have come from i wouldnt think twice about using them as a cheaper option, plenty of people have no problem doing that for track days and you go to any race paddock and you will find shed loads of race scrubs being sold as road tyres ;)
