Lets just settle it once & for all....

If there is a worry about unwanted posts...appoint a Mod for that section only.

can you add a 'am i bothered' option?
;)

STEALTH52

Thought about that & then thought against it to avoid a debate, keep it as a simple yes or no....

I voted locked as i have put stuff for sale on here and all you get is stupid comments which would prob turn some one off who is actually interested.

Must admit that I voted for unlocked.

Would rather handle all of the queries on-forum rather than by PM. Would just like to see the section closely moderated and rely on posters to keep on topic.

Playing Devils advocate...

Would it be possible to say if you want to lock the thread?

IE if i was selling say 50 keyrings then i could say id like the tthread open for lists of names etc...

But if i didnt have time to check the forum much i could keep it locked and deal with everything by email?

just a thought..

(I've voted locked for obvious reasons..:grin2)

But that would be sort of like giving everyone moderator status in the for sale section....going by phpbb software (dont know about vbulletin) it would take either edited existing default usergroup rights to give everyone access to the for sale section, as well as trying to incorporate the 'you must have over 25 posts to post in this section' rule.. you would have to edit the rights of all 'default users' to allow them to lock threads in the for sale section, and try to make it so that they can ONLY lock their own threads.:grin1

I would think its possible.. though it does sound like a bit of a small headache to do it...:grin3

I dont think it would be used responsibly though to be honest.. and i reckon it'll cause arguments or remarks of 'it might of helped if you allowed replies..' etc:(

that doesn't need a poll, that just need the options enabling for users to be pick different styles.. may you should put that into the 'suggestions' thread dan posted?

Of course it needs a poll, everything needs a poll...if we want to change government, theres a poll, if we want to change the forum, theres a poll..:grin1 Don't you try to change the system or suffer the fate of the poll.:laugh1

Do you want me to end the argument by deleting the two threads on here that could reduce your post count to less than a 1000, and then we could divide that count by 2 and find how many useful posts you have made? and then divide that 2 again to find some that are relevant to biking? :D

I think you will find however that Two, apart from generally posting advice on technical stuff, tends to post when it is needed, i imagine if it was more of a biking site as it used to be, instead of what is turning into a general chit chat site, he would probably outstrip your post count without any problems ;)

As for as the poll goes, i wont vote in it, i am going to remain impartial on it :)

where does it say posts have to be relevant to biking, bike chat is for bike topics, romford market is for anything else..:D

cheer up?

be careful 2E, the only thing that would cheer me up would be to slap you down to size at the moment ;) :D

your posting style and your "older than your years attitude" i find can be quite patronising at times, and certainly far too sarcastic for your own good, it's often that which causes so many threads to get ripped apart on here ;)

And yes Romford Market is for general chit chat and yes this is a biking site, i am not disagreeing with that, i am just saying you talk more ****e than anything else and half your posts would disappear if i deleted a few threads :D

now you cheer up :D

The biker would be the guvnor, do i want a straight or sporty handlebars hmm ;)

The sailor isnt really a sailor, he's a pirate.. and whos the resident forum pirate?? the captain :clap

Lateshift is without a doubt the cowboy.. threatening guns at high noon ;)
