How silly is this.

I crash my bike doing 60, slide, flip and roll into a hedge, i get straight up and my only injury was a small bruise on my arm and a sore foot for about 3days.

I play a nice gentlemanly game of cricket on friday and come away with a broken finger and a twisted knee thats swollen up so big i cantl walk properly cos it wont bend much or straighten completely.

In summary crashing motorbikes is safer than playing cricket. :laughboun

I tell you what, im an athiest, and never believed in 'Friday the 13th' either, that was until the past friday 13th!

I dont get cricket, seems far too boring! I played paintball on sat the 14th, and came back with a bruised body....and the bruises looked like those sucker things on octopuses, they were gross!

Had two off's where I rolled along the floor a bit, worst injury though was at low speed, coming to a stop at a junction downhill, the front went into one of those old rounded storm drains and hit the kerb, I kept the bike up but had a 30 mile ride with two sprained wrists!

i broke my ankle in 8 places and had it sticking out of my skin.

how did i do this?

i was rockclimbing so that's quite cool

but i only fell a grand total of four feet which isnt very cool :shooter

(i caught a ridge on the way down yuk yuk yuk)

i now have 2 six inch plates and 16 screws for my troubles :grin2

at least when i hurt myself on my bike i was going for it and had a proper nice long tumble.

I bet if you had fallen from the top of the rock face you were climbing you would have been absolutely fine. This is my point.

Where were you climbing btw?

Did one that was pure class about 8 weeks back, was at work stripping a wire back using some side cutters and was busy yapping to someone like normal not paying any attention to what I was doing, it was a tough little fecker this one and I was really putting some force on it when it snapped and I stabbed it straight into my eye.

Trip to southend A&E followed, I was quite lucky really, nothing more than a massive scratch on the eyeball and a bit of metal in my eyelid, only took about 2 weeks to get better.

I shattered my pelvis 3 years ago in a crash but I work with lads 10 years younger than me who are in real agony if the weathers cold/damp due to football related injuries. I think the cops should ignore bikers and spend Sunday mornings watching footballers "for their own safety" ;)
