Hi All

So in 1984 I sold my beloved RD250LC and moved into the boring world of cars, I missed the racing with my mates, chest on the tank creeping past my buds on their Suzuki X7 and KH400 only to be undertaken on the corners coz I lost my nerve!

So 20 years later, my long hair gone and my baldie hair present, 41 years old I have bought a cheapie on Ebay, cost me £155 but after putting a new battery on it, it has got through its MOT first go!

So I am the proud owner of a 1984 CBR400 NC17 and it is wonderful! Just having to get used to leaning round corners!

As it is a grey import there is very little info on the bike so if any of you experienced bikers have any knowledge on it I would appreciate it!

I look forward to chatting to you all.

Hi Moose,
Welcome aboard hun - They tend to call me 'mum' in here - even tho I have outridden a few of 'em in my time! lol - (only kidding guys!) - I'm 39 (heading off to celebrate my 40th at the Isle of Man in June!) and ride an SV but remember the ol' RD250LCs' - was it the one with the 'coffin' tank? - and was it blue and white or buzby yellow?! (have had some major fun on my mates LC350 that is STILL in mint condition and still gets brought out to play when its nice and dry!) lol - Either way - glad you saw the light and came back into the fold......Like Mark says - keep it rubber side down and enjoy!

Thanks to all for the welcome and I respond...
I have found the greybike site already thanks and very useful it has turned out to be, learning things by the minute!

TT.....I think you refer to the RD250 which had the coffin tank, mine was sleek and black and was about 10 - 15 miles faster....so I thought anyway! It was the fastest 250 out at the time....as for calling you mum at 39...what does that make me???? Grandpa!!!

I will remember the black to the road bit!

It is funny but my 18 to 21 stint, fear never came into it, I just jumped on and screamed off.....now I think....what if a pheasant runs in front of me....watch for those pot holes etc.....

Is this a sign of old age? Sense? or post motor car trauma?

Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you all soon....

Cheers

Thanks TT....me think i will go to that hey ho!!

Is there a prejudice against old crumbly bikes....as a 20 year old Jap import is not exactly a modern superbike or a classic! I would hate to turn up at the gate and be turned away due to low standards!!!! lol

Hey is this a sexist forum do I have to be a female and post a pic to get the response like Sarah?????!!!!! Ha ha ha ha

Sorry TT

You must think me soooo rude!

I bombed out of the Farmyard do coz I discovered it was my parents 50th wedding anniverary and I ended up in Chorley with my family listening to the Liverpool Philarmonic in a park!!!! You see us bikers can be cultured!!! Ha ha!

I would love to meet up with you sometime and please please let me know if something else comes up that is a good bash!

I am getting used to cornering again, I actually dare to lean a bit now!!!

Till soon thanks TT xxxx

Hi Moose - no offence taken - it's nice to know you still respect and see your folks....

As for the FYP - the weather was wet and the tracks very muddy to the valley camp site - it was fun/scary trying to keep the SV upright on the way in but i'm glad to say i managed it - (others were not so lucky!)

Will keep you posted of anything else - the next big rally i'm heading for is the Rock and Blues Custom Show in Pentriche Derbyshire - not far from Ripley.....Again - dont let the name put you off - there are allsorts there - thousands in fact - the prebook tickets are gone now - but plenty more at the gate - its a four day event - thursday to sunday - ermmm - bear with me and i'll try to find a link!....

http://www.rockandblues.uk.com/

Hope that works?! lol - will try it out when i submit this posting!

In the mean time - ride safe and stay rubber side down ya hear?! lol

BTW - the pics of the stunt riders are the bunch that i commentate for - we put on a show on the Friday last year there! - not doing it this year tho - having a few days off! lol

Just a little request, are there any bikers from around York on here?

I know it is a long way from Essex but I can only ask?

I need someone to rideout with...I keep seeing all the bikers going past my house, as I live in a village with a couple of great straights either end!

I suppose I could leap out but that wouldn't be very friendly!!!

Anyway....any response would be appreciated.

Moose - I hope Dan and the others will not mind me mentioning another bike site on here for you to try - Only because I have many friends on there and quite a few are from the North....Its www.bikersweb.co.uk where the links i post to rallys come from mainly - register on line (it's free) and then go to the introduce yourself section - and do just that! - i'm sure you will get a warm welcome - and if nothing else - pop into the chat room for some fun.....Hope ya find someone to ride out with soon mate...

Nice to know i've not been forgotton Dan! xxxxx

I try to check the site as regularly as I can - but couldn't have made it last weekend sadly - I was commentating in the midlands....

Things have been pretty hectic around here lately - As you probably know by now - I split with Abberadon and since then - my feet haven't touched the ground - some things good - some not so - I lost a dear friend last week - (If you read this Womble hunny;I'll see you friday to celebrate his life babe....) and have been trying to organise time off work to get down to Dorset to say farewell - Work has been simply manic - but no change there then really! - I still love all my 'children' in here and hope to see you real soon.....

Love Mum! ;-) aka TT.xxxx
