z550

I really don't want to do this, but.........
To cut a long story short I have a Z550 that I simply cannot afford to get on the road. It is a 1981 Kawasaki Z550A2, 553cc, DOHC, 4-cylinder, air-cooled, model.
I'm in Chelmsford and the buyer must come to me to view the bike, as I cannot ride it (see next sentence).
It doesn't have any tax or mot, but I don't think it would need much for the ticket.
It certainly needs 2 new tyres (about £50-60 each), and the starter motor needs fixing (which is the starter clutch). To have the starter clutch done in the shop costs about £150, but to do yourself would cost £20 without new engine gaskets and about £35 with new gaskets. The main reason why I havn't done it is that it is a big job, as it is positioned behind the clutch, and in order to get to it the clutch and various other things need removing. Thats too much of a big job for me, plus I don't have the space to do the work, but for someone who knows bikes and has a garage it shouldn't take no more than a weekend to do. It still bumps though so can be heard running. I think the carbs could do with balancing as well (or would it be called syncing?), again, a job i'm not able to do.
It has quite a new chain and sprockets, a newish motad 4in1 exhaust, k&n's (I still have the original airbox, which are rare to find). I also have a haynes workshop manual.
Any offers above £270 will be considered, or a swap for a decent laptop (or maybe even a normal PC, if it is good) will also be considered.
If you want more details, pics, or if you have an offer, then;
Email : culdee@o2.co.uk
or
CALL : 07751 011804 and ask for Shane.....
Thanks.....
