Ok My Fzr400 3TJ will not Idle steady
Messed about with the Idle speed and no joy
If i set it to 2500rpm itll idle any lower and its all over the place, Ive cleaned the carbs (well a can of carb cleaner split between the 4 carbs with the engine running)
Any ideas or is it an into the shop for a bit of balancing

my gixer suffers from this. i dont know what it is. altering the tickover did help a bit, but only for a short while. until i dropped it then it went all crazy again.

could be something to do with your choke being faulty - try that.
i had a similar problem on my 125gs -
got rid of the choke and for a cold start- i just give it more throttle when starting.
plus you get more of an engine brake.

Well problem solved, :)
Crap in the carbs (not not literally) but ther carbs were seriously full of gunk and crap.
pilot jets were blocked well and truly.
Still abit lumpy but much better
Now just need the fookers balanced and im a happy bunny
Put the carbs in the Dishwasher!
Seriously! It will get rid of all the crap!
