I got a problem...my 2t pump is not giving enough 2t to my bike(TZR125) after changing gasket of it. :?:

Can i know whether the alignment mark on my pump, move to the left or right provide more 2t althrough it is stated to point at the engrave line.
as I had rev the bike hard but still cant see any white smoke coming out  i need to provide more 2t..........and also

What will happen if the minimum stroke setting is not to the specified and also what does it do

THK for all your help.....

It is possible to adjust the oil pump if necessary by adjusting the throttle cable. The 2 adjuster marks shown in this image below should align together when the throttle is untouched.

http://www.essexbikers.co.uk/reference/tzrr/pump3.jpg

Never touch the bolt on the top of the pump, or the top alignment bolt.

The pump shown in the above image is off my old TZRR, and the throttle was in its default position. As you can see, the bottom alignment is to the right which means more 2 stroke oil will go into the carb than necessary. This is not a bad thing, but if you leave the engine idling for too long, the plug will foul so make sure you pip the throttle gently if you leave the bike to warm up before riding.
At the time I was running in a new engine, so i didnt bother re adjusting the pump.

If enough 2 stroke oil is getting to the carb, you will see blue smoke, not white.

And to answer your last question, if not enough 2 stroke oil is mixed with the fuel, the engine will eventually seize.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmmm silly question but when u replaced the gasket which i carnt see why ud need to but anyway did u bleed the oil pump via the small X headed screw with the red nilon washer under it??? cuz if not u surgest ud do... :>
If u ever run out of 2 stroke or take the oil pump off etc etc u should allways bleed the pump of all air pockets ..

Running ur engine at all without any blue smoke at start up is very unadvisable it will not only sieze ur piston ull wear out ur main bearings and big end bearings not a good thing very expensive aint that right Dan ... :(

Dont run ur bike till u have sorted this problem ..

good luck

to measure the minimum stroke, is to measure the gap between plate and rised boss of the pulley, as told in the haynes manual
juz change the gasket so i need to check....

can i know which is the rised boss?

U dont need to adjust the shims on the boss they are irelivant to what u are trying to do ..

Unless of course u changed a the top gasket?? did u remove all of the pully ? U know the bit the cable goes into or did u just remove the pump from the casing??
if u just removed it from the casing then all u need to do is

1 make sure u fitted the cable back on correctly

2 make sure uve bled the system of all air locks

3 make sure that all of the pipes ie the oil feed pipe and the resivour pipe is correctly fitted ..

4 make sure that the mark on the pully aligns with the stop bolt as Dan has ilastrated ..

5 make sure that the pully cable is actually working does it rotate the pully? does it snap back to its postion?

only other thing i can think of is maybe u sheard a tooth on the cogs that drive the pump when refitting it? did it go on easily?

If u did however take apart any of the pully and boss that controls the stroke of the pump have u made sure u refitted all of the shims?

hope this helps
