Quick Question. Put 15quids worth of petrol in the FZR about a week ago, done 75Kms and its on reserve does that sound right to you guys?

I looked in the tank and its low.

Cannot trace any leak although there is a strong smel of petrol when the bike is started on choke. Bike seems to run well at high revs but does seem a bit Boggy at lowe revs.

I know I have a "lazy" exup valve but that shouldn't affect fuel consumption that much.

Carbs have been rebult recently so just wondering if I have possibly screwed something up in there.

Any suggestions of what to look for

jets might be set wrong... letting too much juice out...OR...ur floats are shagged and aren't shutting off.

How can I tell if the floats are shutting off properly

If I dont get this sorted the I wont be out to play tommos

Looks like i have found the problems

A minor fuel leak, carbs where the fuel line joins the carbs, and it looks like thats sorted also I had issues with the choke not fully disengaging

Run the bike up running nice then all of a sudden it starts to sound like a lawnmower

2 cracked downpipes

Oh well

looks like i need a set of 3TJ downpipes

It takes all day just to change a spark plug on a VFR! Not to mention they are about £25 each!

Is there any job that ISN'T difficult on the VFR?

they look just like the downpipes off the 3en1 that im breaking. but guess what, mine have the same prob, one of the ends even got stuck in the engine and i needed a screwdriver to get it out.

Taking the back wheel off lokks easier than it does on my CBR.

When we to the wheel off a friends NC30 It took a sledge hammer and a scaffold plank to get the fooker off the spline
