Thats going to come down to budget to be honest mate, both of the boots that mentioned are right up there at the top, both in terms of quality and price too.
However you are looking for something that hasnt got too much flex in the sole (gives a solid feel to gear changes), needs to have a protected toe, heel, ankle and shin too (protecting all the little bits that hurt even when you catch them in the house :D )
Other than that, and probably the most important, you have to feel comfortable in them when walking or you wont enjoy riding in them ;)
i got these beasts
quite expensive when i got em cant remember how much tho

there really good
I have had a few pairs now in racing. It all depends on your foot shape so try a few pairs on.
I had the Oxstar boots for a few years and now I have alpine stars.
Both have been very good and survived a few 100mph+ crashes.
Both pairs cost about £150 and I wouldn't go for the ones that are £189 as they wont offer much more protection and cost more becuse of looks.
And if you are wearing them with jeans you should have then under your jeans!!! 8)

PMSL!!
Well the boots will offer the same amount of protection whether they are in your jeans or on the outside. In fact if you put the jeans inside your boots you are more likely to injur yourself because of the pressure of the folded up material.
And you look like a spanktrumpet if you tuck your jeans into your boots!!!!

Go out and spread the word and the word is SPANKTRUMPET my spanky’s
my dads best mate, had an accident whilist wearing a pair of sidi, car pulled out in front of him, so he braked hard and brought the bike side on whilist in skid (or something along those lines) rather than hit front on, and the sidi saved his ankles in the crash,
so i choose to wear sidi too....

I have a set of Sidi Vertebra that i swear by, for anything that involves water is use a pair of Black Rain Evo's too :)
If you are looking for a set of boots, then look on Ebay, plenty of them there cheap enough, you dont have to pay £150 for a pair of boots on there ;)
mine were £50 all in from a guy who wore them once, they werent even broken in and looked like he must have ridden his bike across his front room if they really had been worn :D
