only once on my vfr....followed by my arse and the rest of the bike!
I regularly scrape my toe sliders and pegs though.
I can I can!
Even in the rain!
Got my elbow down too a few times!
And my ass, back, head, legs etc etc but thats another story!

Same As Biker dude, when my knee touches the road you can be pretty sure the rest of me will follow
i can ill get some fresh proof on me gixxer for y'all
to be fair
getting your knee down is just a hassle
your better i rekon if you can get that low with out using your knee
all i do now is do the same corners, same speed but just hang my knee out no need for it i just have to remember to stick my knee out, at the moment i have to think rather then doing it second nature, it will be good when i do it naturally rather then remembering to do it

i can :D many people have seen it, but fingerz saw a good un at night when i had my sparkleys on
I agree that you dont have to put your knee down in certain cases.
Although sometimes you are that low you dont have a choice. Look at my avatar for instance.
I use it as a gueage to know how low I am and when I am going to run of the edge. The fairing usually goes down first! See avatar again!
I use my knee as a stabilizer too if my tyres start to loose grip mid corner. You can push yourself back upright. It does start to hurt the small muscle just above your knee cap after an endurance race so I am training my legs up for this seaon!

cops aint gonna care if you get ya knee down as its classed as a part of riding its not exactly dangerous as it aides to your cornering unless your bike is upright and your hanging off with ya knee down in a straight line lol then they might pull ya

so i followed him to the next roundabout where i expected him to almost get his knee down, and watched him fly into the roundabout really wide, slap the bike on its side really low, and bang goes his knee on the floor all the way round the roundabout lol - was quite jealous lol!
I cant get me knee down - knearly did once i got me new tyres on, but due to **** throttle control and the fact my pipe sticks out further than my pegs by a long way im scared to try lol!

man what you need to do is on a nice sunny day put fairth in your tyres and your self and then go around a roundabout once normally twice go lower and try to hold at a steady pace when you get comfortable there go lower then just casually hang your knee out and you will be supprised then youknee will slide along thye floor and a big bright light will shine on you and the heavens shall sing " HALOLUYA"

this comin from me...the person with no sliders so never had my knee down....
You dont need to get ur knee down tim... I am as quick if not quick on my lil 400 than some of these guys that can get their knees down. Loads of times i've caught my boots on the floor (crunched a cats eye last time i was down in essex) and if i had them lil bits on the end of my pegs, im sure they would have been ground too. But what im tryin to say is that gettin ur knee down looks cool, but unless ur pushing and goin fast its not worth it...but it will bring a smile to ur face!
gixer400
17-03-2005, 06:37 PM

17-03-2005, 09:21 PM
i know what you mean its not faster its jsut a wicked feeling and looks kool too!
Me n dan went for a little ride tonight n im gettin a bit more confident on roads i know now - goin into bends wide, tipping in with a push on opposite bar, bike tips real smooth and whips round corner lol! wicked fun - still not good at it but more confident. Its down to me worryin about the tyres lettin go over bumps and man hole covers whilst cornering - starting to realise that you can get away with bumps etc on bends, jsut relax - in the wet its different tho as you all know - been riding in the wet to and from work lately too which has helped cos now its dry its a lot easier to ride.
plus traffic has helped me cos it makes me get used to handling the bike through traffice and slow control - something i dont get much chance to practice on me bike as i dont normally use it unless the car is in bits like last week :)

You're taking the corners with enough pace, it's just a matter of hanging off more.
Because I ended up behind you madly trying to keep up I was watching how you ride.
You could hang off that little bit more, drop your shoulder down and I'm pretty sure you'd touch your knee down with not much effort at all.

The way to do it is find a quiet roundabout and ride round until:
a - you get dizzy and feel sick
b - you fall off
c - you get your knee down
It will answer the question, I tried today and took option a!!!!!

i think if you popped your knee out a bit youd have it.
Hanging off more would be better than sticking your knee out more. Looking good though.
im not even considering getting my knee down just yet ive only been riding my rs125 a week still getting used to the bike, i think its the tits of a bike compared with my 125 ped, but as time goes on im sure i will start getting the balls to drop my knee if not it will be another bike written of lol

....oh yea, does any1 wanna gimme a set of leathers??? My jeans dont seem to have anywhere to put sliders

knee down maybe could, but whats really good fun is wait till about two-three clock in the morning and get a 500cc moped and go round the roundabouts the wrong way with the stand on the floor and make preety sparks.

A view shared by many.
Especially when I start waving with my left hand with my knee on the deck, and sparks flying from the pegs, which are now pretty much ****ed.

I got mine down arsin about when i used to live in surrey.. but my mates who videod it in their camera phones thought i was goin to drop the bike as it was on a very bumpy roundabout.. mind you i lost the knee slider from the other leg on a run down to crescent suzuki last summer.. and its quicker to go round corners sometimes with your knee off the ground.. nothin to do with the fact that my legs are knackered from running and rugby and cant stretch out very far!!!

Good things come in 3s.
Shame I'd already scrubbed the left slider by putting it upside down on the right, whilst now I can actually do it.
Getting your knee down on a proper corner rocks.
And petrol stations  and 20mph into a T-junction.
I'll fall off, then you can all laugh.

BOTH Knees? are you riding sidesaddle? One at a time might be easier.
The joints, and lack of bottle prevent me from getting my knees down, but I have managed to lay my bike over far enough to warrant replacing the exhaust due to scraping a rip in the end can  I do sometimes manage to wave a knee in the general direction of the road, but when I straighten up, find my ass is still firmly in the centre of the saddle.
On a slightly different note, I managed a serious amount of shoulder down last summer, and still have the marks on my shoulder and back to prove it :?

You won't have a problem, you're a KD god Chris.
The cibber won't pose a problem.
And if the pegs go down you're just not hanging off enough.

As Gaz said you need to hang off more. My pegs went down and at first that scared me but after pictures being taken and advice from people i lent off abit more and vola the knee went straight down, after a few attempts! Find a nice roundabout and just lap it while hanging off.
