Ive got a buitiful little 1989 UK TZR125, rebuilt the top end a coupla thousand miles ago, got a rebour and new piston and she runs sweet as now.....my question..
Ive read **** loads on this forum about most of the things in my subject...what i want to know is...
...is it worth getting a servo for my power valve, and if so can i get one from a european bike (import the part)
...will a K&N or equiv help, and when im asking for new carb jets what size do i ask for
...If i just turn and pin the valve do i need new jets, and is the performance below 6 grand that **** (i ride it in traffic as well as the open road everyday)?
...is there ne thing else i can do to go faster and will ne of the things above mean my bike blowing up?
My bike beats the tits off my mates TZR and hes got an extra 1mm boured out of his barrel so im pleased with it.....but damn i need to be able to keep up with some of my buds cars :p
Cheers for ur time, and **** hot site boys.

The first thing u wanna do is get a Working servo motor u can get one of these from a breakers if u look hard enough just ask for the complete YPVS SERVO and pully from a 2002 DTR 125 onwards they started fitting these to the new DTRS after they decided to restrict the DTR via the exhuast pipe .. and if u do use the dtr ones u wont have to bother with a servo control unit as the dtr servo has all that built in :)
As for a replacment air filter if u do replace the air filter with an K&N free flow filter becuase it allow more air to the cumbustion it burns alot hotter (Image ur bunson burner at school they got the lil bit at the bottom u flip around to make the flame hotter ) well its basicly the same thing but by not adding more fuel to this air flow u run the risk of melting the piston as its so hot ... so what u need to do it add a bigger main jet allowing alittle more fuel into the air stream .. if u go for a K&N or a S&B filter u wanna try a 180 to a 190 hexaginal main jet .. cost about 1.50 each so get a load and have a mess about with um till u get it just right .. dont be fooled by ppl who tell u to adjust the mixture screw as this only control the mixture in the idle rev range ie 000 rpm to 2500 rpm after that the main jet takes over ...
other modifications a good buy is a Micron exhuast pipe my brother still has my old TZR 125 with its micron and other such modifications and it beats every RS 125 up until it runs out of gears and drive at around 105 mph it also beats my gf's italian TZR125R but then i havnt had time to tinker with hers much atm :(
Goodluck

Just went to my local yamaha dealers to ask about the YPVS bits from a DTR.....£270 for the lot....the bike cost me £600 in the first place so i think ill give it a miss.. ;)
And he said that the new DTRs were restricted in the CDI not the exhuast.....
*deep sigh*

**** it! Im just gunna pin open the power valve and see how that works out over a weekend :)
That will increase your power after about 6,000 revs if i remember right, but it does decrease the accelleration slightly up to 4-5000 revs.
We done it on FingerZ! old tzr (now owned by MELLERS)

There is another TZR parked in my college car park......I just had a quick look and the bastard has a YPVS and a micron exhaust! hmmpf
Well doubt he will be able to keep up with a NC30 muhahaha!
lool - it is fun burning away past everyone on an NC30 - designed to do 60-70 in 1st gear :)
We were ****ing around the other day trying to do wheelies.... damm thats hard...

A mate of mine who is a trials rider was trying to give me the gist of wheelies..i sorta managed a lil one on my lil bike.....then i crapped my pants and put it back down on the ground again :D
Basically the gist was...rev the tits off it and dump the clutch :S
There is a good bit on www.suzuki-club.co.uk about wheelies....goto forum\supersports =)
I just didnt like the fact i was covering the clutch whilst revving so hard.. and then i had to let go... felt like i wouldnt be able to grab the handle properly.
Argh... bring on the 600's where you can wheelie simply on throttle ;)

Ive kind of figured the wheelie thing out for tzrs, once you've got it high enough you should be able to just balance it instead of using the bikes power to hold you up, its quite hard to get right and a bit scary cos you have to have the front quite high but once you've masterd it your wheelies are a lot smoother.Just remember to keep the back brake covered!!!!
