it sounds like u left ur fuel tap on and the fuel slowly leaks into the cylinder but the piston might of been down farenough so thre exhaust port was open and all ur petrol leaked into the exhaust and evapoated and any l;eft just blow out the exhaust. just in future just remember to turn ur fuel tap off when ur finished riding it. mike

oh dear that may have fugged ur connecting rod up :'( it seems that u have a sticking float needle .. This is usually caused by dirt n what not backing up behind ther float needle stoping it from fully closing ..
Which stops the float needle from sealing the jet which stops the fuel ..
what i surgest u do is take ur carb off ur bike asap take off the fuel bowl and take out ur floats then.
1: Remove the floats via the small retaining pin
2: examine the floats for damage (holes etc ) as this can also be a cause .
3: take out the needle float and check that it has no wear marks around the top of the needle ( round marks ) if it is worn then it will need replacing as it wont be sealing correctly ...
4: take out the float needle seat and check it for debris (dirt etc ) This is the probable cause ... (fit a fuel filter ) u wouldnt believe the crap that comes out of the fuel pumps at the fuel stations ..
5: put it all back together and continue to thrash it to within an inch of its life :)
questions:: Was ur engine locked when u tryed to start it because u may have badly damaged the connecting rod by trying to start it with the crank cases filled with fuel ... liquids dont compress so if it happens again try and drain the fuel rather than just trying to force the engine over ..
Good luck hope i helped

Ps: U should never have to turn ur fuel off after riding unless of course u have a problem with ur carb ... " look a pub ill stop here and have a pint oh must remmber to turn my fuel off " loool
