I need my bike serviced, but got quoted nearly £200, can anyone recommend someone?

what service are you after? a major i would imagine at that price.

Couple of places to try, Redline down on the Airborne inductrial estate

if you were to book before the end of March (that gives you a day) then he wil charge £25ph labour,

Graeme the guy that owns the place quoted me yesterday for my Gixxer 750 SRAD a maximum of £210 plus parts if it needed everything doing to it, he then said that if i got it booked in he would drop the labour charge from £35ph to £25 so i was then looking at £150 tops for the labour.

John E Vines on the Rayleigh Weir industrial estate wanted anywhere from £250 to £300 all in depending on what needed doing.

There is a guy called Jason who is spot on, he works from his own place round the back of Sopers bike shop on London road, again he cheap on the labour side of life, difficult to find but if you do get stuck give me a shout.

There is also Alpha motorcycles on London road too, they are a Suzuki dealer and reckon all in for around £260 if i remember correctly.

How quick do you want it?

My service was booked for Saturday but i wont be bothering now as i have part exchanged my bike at Redline so if its urgent you might be able to take advantage of the offer he was giving me?

Not in a rush, just need a yearly service done. I'll get it done when i get paid, i think i'll try the guy on the London Rd, What bike you swapped it for?

Picked up a fully kitted out T reg Mille.

I fancied an RSV R, but the only thing that the R has that this doesnt is the expensive Ohlins front shocks, this one has the Ohlins rear shock with remote fitted, everything in carbon, DBR rear sets and a full MHP carbon canned piggy back 2-1-2 system specially made at a price of £1200.

Best of all its got a full 15000 miles dealer service history, recent chain and sprockets, datatagged and Meta 357T

I got my Gicxxer off him 8 months ago for £3495, i have done over a 1000 miles on it and he is taking it back off me for £3000, i couldnt have hired one for that price! :D

That being said he is spot on down there,

Jason if you know that end of London road is directly behind Soper's, if going from Southend towards Hadleigh, you turn at the junction immediately before Soper's and then take an immediate left, you will see his workshop up the path and all the bikes up there.

I havent got his number unfortunately but he wont rip you off thats for sure and he knows his stuff ;)

The bike sounds lush mate, gonna take a drive down to the airborne ind est tomorrow, never been on there, i didn't even know there was a bike shop there!!!

He has recently moved there from having the bike shop next door to Soper's

He had his workshop over at the the Airport industrial site, his shop on London road and his Import car place somewhere else, with the Airborne site he gets everything under the same roof.

Nice little setup he has got down there to be honest but he has been in the bike game in Southend for the last 20 years at least :)

I havent had her out yet, i pick her up on Friday, at the moment she is having 12 months MOT stuck on her and a 1 inch chunk of steel welded to the bottom of the stand to compensate for the extra lean she has with the Ohlins shock fitted (as its had its rear end raised slightly).

With the MHP twin cans on it, it really is nothing short of frightening though, i think its going to be a Police magnet which is a bit worrying, the 7am wake up call for the neighbours is another thing i will have to think about too :D
