Well, I noticed a thread in the rideouts bit, so I saw it was warm and dry out, so sodded school and joined J and phipps on a little rideout.
On our journeys we encountered, 1 undercover police car, lots of knee down, one person binned their bike , 110mph out of the XJ and lots of what can only be described as 'hooning'.
I'll let two of the others fill you in on their respective parts of the day aswell.
I was the one who binned it, had my knee on the deck going round a roundabout, a van pulled out, I had to go round its outside (it was in the outside lane) I was desperately trying to scrub off speed, then I went across some gravel, and I fought for what seemed like ages to keep it rubber side down with both wheels locking up. Eventually I hit a curb and that was the final decider, it went down on the left side.
One scuffed engine casing, one broken indicator, a few minor scratches on the fairing. The clutch mystically feels better now than it did before... and the indicator I fixed outside heine gericke with another one I bought inside. (which has a short stalk, but hopefully no-one will notice).
4 of us also hooned out of a roundabout, phipps ****ed off at whatever speed he hoons at. While a large black beast of a car, possibly a BMW x5 or a mitsubishi warrior magic'd some blue lights from under the grill and the top of the screen.
It wasn't safe to pull over, so we didn't, and he carried on his way... :?:
Not that we mind, I think it was a kind of 'don't push it lads' kind of thing.
I won't go into more details/post the videos until the others have posted their news.

You didn't mention me joining you half way through the day
Twas a great ride of roundabouts, bought a new pair of sliders then hit the roundabouts, by about the 6th attempt i think the knee finally came down. was as happy as a happy little bunny rabbit in happy land
And then from then after (on the same roundabout) it came down many times more.

sounded fun. glad to hear you and the bikes not too badly damaged. i crashed mid kneedown once. but thats was cold tires on a damp day.
but your a naughty boy for not attending school. it is vital for young men to grow up with a proper education, but you had fun so i forgive you.

ah, I'd never heard of a bike just slipping out while attempting KD.
I've never done it in the damp, I'm ride like I'm on a ped when it's even slightly damp.
We were very carefull to warm tyres before attempting any hardcore KD.
Guess that explains why the right side of your bike is fairly ****ed...
The worst bit, they took a sixth form photo today, which I'm not in, and when they took the sixth form photo for the year book I wasn't there either...

yes today was my first day of wearing leathers with knee sliders and today was the day that my Mr Knee met Mr Road. it was great. well glad u missed college for the day it was a great one. i love the "watch how binning my bike has no effect on me what so ever" and on the next roundabout ur knee was on the deck. its a shame racemensee doesnt have leathers cos his would have been down too!
as for the old bil i rekon they were just making us aware of his huge presence seeing as he didnt carry anything through, result!!
what a day!!

I was out minding my own business in my car (on my way to the Essex Advanced Motorcyclists Group night, when I spotted a familiar looking Red XJ600......thats Gazdaman me thinks, so I double back and pull in just as he pulls out, and goes around and around and around etc, I think he nearly scraped his ear on the roundabout at one point
And Paulodd was there proudly showing his scrapes on his new kneesliders
Along with a GSXR and a Ninja, Racemensee and errrrr sorry can't remember
.......It was the EssexBikers KD school 8) 8)
Good to see you boys out terrorising the locals, sorry, that was a typo.....I meant having some good harmless fun

RaceMeNSee and Ride-or-die. ZX6-r and GSX-r600 respectively.
I thought it must have been an EAMG night, I saw lots of BMWs with reflective sashs heading towards channels golf club!
I'll go along one day, I know most of the guys there. Might even bring my parents along.

When it's a nice dry day we've got to get back out there with a digital cam and a camcorder and get some top quality footage! don't surpose anyone has a camcorder we can borrow for a few hours?

Come down, It'll cost you £50 up front for a years membership and all the training included.
Andy is joining up, he was concerned there would be no one his age there, but there is one other very young lad, if you joined up that'd be 3 of you, if you could get some of the others to join up it would be good to get a young element in there.
Last night there were LOADS of bikes there, and don't think its all BMW's, there are as many Fireblades as BMW's, I would say its predominantly Sports Bikes.
Last night we had a talk by a company called Rapid training who do on road training and track day training.
If you (and this invite is open to all of you) want to come down just for an evening without joining and no pressure, you can come as a visitor, I'll get you in, it will cost you a pound each, there is a full bar/food service if required. Next meet night is tuesday 3rd May. They are holdng a bring and buy sale.
