HaHaHa, I've been a member since dec 2003 and I remember both incidents so thats only 15 months
He bought some knee sliders and I think went loking for some action, he found a REALLY tight bend and never quite made it around the corner, went gently up on the grass verge, saw he was heading at a post, so he jetisoned, (his mate is out of action with a broken femur after coming off and coming into contact with a post).
I've told him the rubber is supposed to go downwards
clocks is the biggest casualty, but I think I've sorted it now.

This is what happens when you play truent to the KD school.
Hope he's ok, hope the bike's ok.
I had a couple of missed calls from him earlier, my phone was in my jeans under my leathers.
I'm sure we'll see him back up and running before long.

everbody will bin it at one timr or other, weather its something daft like droping it cause u didn't kick the stand rite out ,to steaming into a corner to fast and and crashing big styileee, the trick is (as long as ur still breathing)to LEARN FROM IT and dont make the same mistake twice

...exactly Spider, as long as you come out OK, and you learn from it then its OK.
.........He just seems to be on a steep learning curve at the moment
All done, bike is back on the road, total monetary cost, £4.48, for bulbs for the clocks.
PS. I am now an expert at plastic welding 8)

OH SH!T, he has binned it BIG TIME now!
car slowing down, proceeds to overtake, car swerved into middle of the road and brakes sharply, bang in front of him straddling the middle of the road, no indication, uninsured loss recovery/ legal people reckon he has a case against the car.
But the bike is totalled
front wheel, brake, forks. bollock shaped dent in the tank  and back end of frame bent.

poor guy. he has been having a rough time.
kasandrich

Let me rephrase it.
He was following a car
the car started to slow down, no indicators, no brake lights
Andy decided to overtake
mirrors
indicate
lifesaver, as he eased out
looked back, and the car had suddenly moved into the middle of the road right in his path and anchored up sharp.
The car was straddling the middle of the road, and Andy hit it in the middle at the back.
The driver said he never knew he was there until he felt the impact, classic SMIDSY

hope his alrite mate, reading ur last post he done everything rite just as they teach u,but this is also the problem, wot they teach u is to pass a test, not how to ride in real life, and some parts of the test r decades old,1 being the life saver,it mite of been a good idea 35 years ago when bikes were like old bsa's,nortons etc but bikes r so,so, very fast now that the time it takes to take that last look over ur shoulder, focus ur eyes, make sure its clear, look back the way ur going uve traveled a huge distance the tin box driver does something stupid and u have no where to go,this is wot bikesafe is all about real world riding, and ud be surprized wot the instruters have to say about the "LIVE SAVER"
Biker Dude

kasandrich
12-04-2005, 10:01 PM
He is fine, he has a rather tender area, caused by the impact with the tank, .......leaving a large dent in the tank.
.....and no, no explanation of why the car stopped in the middle of the road!

****, andy's not having much luck this month is he? I hate cars that do stupid things and hate it even more when they use the excuse of SMIDSY.
Is the bike fixable or are you going to get andy a new one?
Paul
kasandrich
13-04-2005, 04:01 PM
Paul,
No the bike is not fixable (and even the exhaust is no good  .....sorry mate)
He has no more money to buy another bike, and I don't intend to buy him another. If he is lucky he may get a claim against the car driver and get a pay out there.
r6paul
13-04-2005, 10:23 PM
Thats a bit of the bummer. Not to worry about the exhaust, my mums blokes brother reckons he can weld it back together. Don't ask me how, but he is a genious when it comes to welding.
Hope andy gets atleast some money back!
Paul
