Okay, i saw about eight or nine bikers tonight go by, so if you saw a Blue CG on the road, that was mine, and yes i came off..
A13, just (literally) over the M25, by Dartford Tunnel, i was heading home, didnt realise how low on petrol i must've been (which i didnt think i was THAT bad..) and the damn bike just completely ceased up. i mean conked, goodnight, and it locked up entirely. i managed (im proud of this bit..only good bit about it...) to keep the bike upright for a good ten seconds of it shuffling like mad, then it flipped and threw me, i caught the bike on me, so it isn't badly damaged ( update on that later) but i must have pulled a muscle in my leg, or something, cus it HURTS like hell, my right side of my pelvis hurts a lot, but it looks like bruising only, and my spine took a beating, but its only aching so i think im fine..
Managed, after getting fuel from a certain legend of a guy (superstacker..lol)... to bring the Cg limping back to home, will update you on the overall damage of it when i know for sure..
But, preliminary checks are:
Front Brake (the bit you pull on lol) twisted back towards me, causing hassle but i dont know if its dangerous
Throttle jolted and i have to pull the throttle more then usual..
Right Hand mirror cracked but not snapped off
Thats it. I think the bike is good because of its impact with softness (ie me) and im HOPING im fine. so it'll be in the garage tommorow for a check up to get a Pro's look into it, then we'll see what we can do biker style...
Sorry for anyone who was held up on the A13 cus of me, was a rookie mistake, didnt check my fuel, but you have to learn, eh?

(Oh, and if anyone knows where to get CG mirrors for cheap...give us a nudge. im 100% certain the garage will charge me a million quid for em...)
Cheers and sorry again!
Hi hun,
I've not been on here for ages so you probably wont know me - but i feel the need to say sommat!
Firstly - glad you are still here to tell the tale...but are you sure its just cos you ran outta petrol? - bikes usually just splutter and cut out if ya run outta juice - not seize... before you try starting it up again - please check the oil seals etc - here's hoping its not something major - but sounds like lack of fuel wasn't the cause here...
Take it easy and hope ya feel better soon...

Thanks TT, we managed to get the bike restarted again and rode it another few miles to a station, it seems fine enough, but I'm going to have a full check up of it later. got photos of the bike what was damaged but its not really serious serious, but i ache more then it seems to show lol.
Im glad i dont have any fairing on the bike, it would be in pieces now with a huge bill too!...
anyways, thanks for the message TT, now..off to see the Garage man, to see what he can do!

The throttle body should have a little notch in it where it fits into the r/h switchgear, that may have snapped if you have to turn it more.
Hit eBay for a mirror and brake lever.
The wheels shouldn't lock up through lack of petrol, although when a bike is spluttering to a stop you may have knocked down a few gears and locked it up under engine braking.

well we have had it out running on the A13 yesterday for about half an hour going through gears, braking, etc etc, here's the major problems i've found:
Might have a slight problem with the front wheel, didnt seem entirely perfect to me but might just be nerves.
Front Brake is screwed, worryingly, needs to be tightened and needs to stop moving when i try and brake...i can pull it right in and not get much response..
So altogether, probably a day or twos repairing, and then we're high and dry.
Going to need to buy a new helmet too, my old one is a) the wrong colour and b) probably in dire need of replacement...any suggestions as to what sort?
Ebay here we come, new Mirror and Brake Lever!

unlucky dude
Hi hun,
Please do me one favour and get the frame checked... if the front wheel seems a bit iffy and the brakes dont wanna kick in - you could have simply twisted the wheel - but if its the frame - you need someone who knows their stuff to check it for you - stress points etc...
I know i'm probably sounding over protective - but a tumble that doesn't look much on the surface can often have less obvious problems...
As for a new lid - it kinda depends on your budget - if you can afford to get one with a gold standard mark - then go for it (the little square sticker on the rear of the lid) - but silver or bronze is better than nothing - also - nearly all quality lids will have a date of manufacture somewhere on them... embossed on the chin strap or printed inside the lining somewhere - i only say this as there are plenty of shops selling off lids in sales that look to be great value - until you realise that they are probably already almost two years old...recomended time scale for replacing a lid (even if undamaged ) is 5 years - and if your new lid is already 2 years old - then the rest is obvious i'm sure - again - some folk would say this is of little consequence - but lids DO start to deteriorate after approx 5 years and you may as well get the most you can out of it!
I'm gonna sign off now before i really start sounding like a mum! lol - but like i said - depends on your price range....will be happy to suggest some if ya wanna put an approx fig up for me to start from...
Just one last thing - others in here will be able to tell ya (hopefully!) that i've been around bikes for more years than most of 'em have been on this earth - and so hopefully have SOME kind of idea of what i'm on about...i'm not just preaching - honest! lol
Take care

Thanks TT, had someone check over the bike and wheel damage and frame stress points etc, nothing picked up that he could see (but he didnt charge so i dont know how...detailed he looked). New parts arrived this morning, being put on as we speak.
As for lids, not partcularly fussed on price range really, but if you want a lowest range i know a good lid will probably cost roughly 60 quid, so if you know of a particularly good company thats not exactly stupidly priced, then go for it, im all ears and happy to know.
it just needs to be blue lol...
well, it will need to have a service soon so im going to get it completely overhauled. but it will be ready later on today and i will be giving it a run about, albeit only locally, to see how well it is.
Thanks for giving me pointers on what to do, TT, advice is hugely appreciated, I can only learn.
Cheers again

Thanks for that Lee...
Right - on the subject of lids...I'm an Arai girl myself, always have been and always will be - but i appreciate that they are the top end of the market and as such - costly; As an alternative, three fair/good mid price range lids you might wanna check out are HJC; LAZER or AGV...
They all vary in price but you should find one around the £100 mark that will fit the bill...I know you mentioned £60+ but truly - if a lid is well looked after and is therefore gonna (hopefully) last you 5 years then you're only talking at £20 per year cost - and all i'm gonna say to that is...what price do you put on your own head!?!?!
Admittedly, expense doesn't always mean the best, but do try and spend as much as you can comfortably afford on a new well fitting lid (and yes! they all do blue ones! lol)
As a total aside - i found a website that i think we could all benefit from reading...the link is below and gives tips on clothing; helmet fit and design; accident advice etc...maybe this will help you and others some more...who knows...
http://www.motorcycle-training.f2s.com/safety.html
Good luck with getting back out on the road; just take your time and relearn to walk before you run...I want guys like you around in another 15 years to be giving out advice to others ya hear?!

Now i really am sounding like a mom! lol
Right i'm off to find a pic of my bike to post on here - as i've just had her fitted with lower fairing and hugger! hehehe!
Love TT.xxxx
