For those who dont know, i ride a 1999 600 bandit. The other day i was going through romford on the easton avenue when i stoped at the traffic lights.Another bloke pulled up next to me on a VFR,not the new one.We started chating as bikers do.He was asking me questions about my race can and said that he had just fitted one to his bike....Anyway.....The lights were just gonna change when he started to rev his bike up, so i assumed he wanted it off the lights...I thought" ok then, i'll give it ago" didn't really think i'd have a chance...The lights changed and we were off,my front end came up which let him just nudge infront but when it came back down i managed to get infront of him. When we stoped at the next set of lights he didn't say anything at first just looked my bike up and down as if he had never seen one before, then he asked if i'd had anything else done to it.I said "no",but i have  .He then was mumberling something about his bike being a 750.The lights were about to change again, but this time he wasn't reving his bike.I wasn't going to race again anyway, nearly fliping it sort of put me off a bit.The lights changed and i pulled away slowly, and he pulled away even slower. The rest of the day i had a big grin on my face,i'd never raced anyone before so i didn't really know how fast my bike was.She done alright the old girl.Anyway the moral of the story is never judge a book by its cover.I know Bandits get slagged off a lot," TO HEAVY".."CRAP BRAKES".."CRAP SUSPENTION".."TO SLOW",and as standard i'd have to agree, but with a little time and money you can get them running pretty sweet.I know most of you are not Bandit fans but it makes me very happy.......Cheers all

Sorry just realised i've put it in the wrong forum should be in bike chat....SORRY

That is terrible! Fancy racing on the public highway!

Its all in the clutch action, you will find that most modern bikes have very nearly the same 0-60 times, even comparing 600 to thous.

Feels good though don’t it

600's 750's 1000,s all seem to be the same on pullaway its all about the clutch control they tend to leave you wen they hit second. I can beat Nori1000 on a gixxer thou and falloff on a gixxer 750   . I ride a zx6r as you know.

Not that I do the "Traffic Light Race" every day...  ......but it is surprising how many riders don't do clutchless changes........and it is surprising how fast you can be when you do it........ :D :D

we're talking about clutch control pulling away. 1st to 2nd clutch the rest bang up easy.
