After much debate with the suzuki owners club, ive come to reason that i probably cant afford to restrict the beasty 750 to 33bhp......so it looks like a 400 then!

Ive just had a look around bike trader....and they seem pretty damn resonable....what do i look for when buying one? Ne common problems that i can look for so i dont get bumped?

Yeah baby! VFR's rule... (totally un biased opinion   )

Only real problem with the NC30's is the regulator/rectifier charging system. They tend to go quite early on in life tho, so chances are it'd have been replaced by now.

Got any links of any on Biketrader that you like?

There are a few pics of mine at http://www.essexbikers.co.uk/dan.htm

Cya!

The NC30 was officially imported into the UK, and there are probably as many imports as there are UK ones about.

It just so happens the bike i saw was an import, and i fell in love with it - i was hesitant after owning an import before and after having such a nightmare with it - but with the NC30's, they actually made them in this country the same year, so parts and sevicing is never a problem.

They even do a haynes manual that covers the VFR/RVF models, so most maintenance you can do yourself using that.

That was sommit i was a bit worried about. With the stroker i can whip the beast apart and fix it if i get ne probs...was thinking the V engine woul b a little more complex :D do u get urs services at a garage for valve heights and things?

I get my bike serviced privatly by a chap who has his own garage. I think its done every 4k miles or so.

Like you my 2 stroke experiences was with the TZR, id never attempt to do much with my bike ..... 4 cylinders/carbs scare me :)

things to look for - make sure its running right unlike mine lol!

forks seals - as you probably know - not that difficult to cahnge but expensive to have done and a pain to do yourself!

Dont get an import unless its a parrallel import like Dan's NC30 - otherwise bits are a NIGHTMARE lol!

possibly

have a look closely at the stanchion (shiney chrome bit that goes in the damper at the bottom of the fork leg) and see if you can see any rust or digs and tiny imperfections - if you see any thats the cause - if you dont see nay then its just the seal dying with age/use. :)

also see if the forks feel notchy when they compress this can be a sign of bent fork stanchions! and check your headstock nuts bolts and bearings to see if any are loose this can also cause the notchiness and will not help the fork seals
