U said at college that u had problems with getting smooth power top end....

Ur bikes quite old so id give it the once over if i was u. Ur goign to need to remove the fuel tank...and prolly side panels.....god know how u do it on ur bike but it wont be too hard.....?

Start by cheking the air filter, should be moist with oil and clean. If not give me a word and ill tell ya how to clean it. Next step is carb. Could be that ur not getting enough petrol into the engine and the faster ur going the more petrol ur not getting.....so u need to check the jets are clean, i had a similar problem with my TZR and it was cuz my main jet was blocked.

To get it off the bike u will have to disconect the warming pipes (full of coolent) and prolly an oil pipe and on top is where the throttle cable attaches..prolly a big screw. Oh and the fuel pipe (make sure u turn off the fuel tap first) Unscrew or detach it all and lable it if ur not sure where it goes. On the bottom of the thottle cable this is the needle. The bit that this threds into is the main jet? To get to this you will prolly have to remove the cover to the float chamber and teh floats. The float chamber is on the bottom of the carb. Take off the cover and there should be some plastic floats...like in a bog. They controll the fuel coming into the carb. On my carb they are attached to the carb with a pin that just pushes out. One this is done u can unscrew the bit under it (teehee) and then push the jet thru from this side into the carb body....then clean it.

To clean it i used some petrol...which isnt a good idea cause its v.flamable and ****..but **** it i was ouside and i dont like my eyebrows that much ne way. Once it was washed off (mine was proper blocked from **** from my fuel tank) i used a foot pump and a football attachment to clean the holes....dont use a pin or wire cause u can make them bigger. Do the same with all the different holes on the carb, flush them thru with air.

If you have got bits of rust of whateva inside ur carb then u will need to flush ur fuel tank. Get a tank of fresh petrol, remove the tap from the bottom of the tank and drain out the petrol inside into a bucket or sommit. U the need another bucket to suspend the tank. Use the new petrol or old if its clean to flush thru a few times. Give everything a clean and bobs ur fathers brother. Dont worry if best part of a ton of rusted steel comes out...it did on mine...and mine still rattles with something forever lost inside =)

While uve got everything apart u might aswell check and maybe replace the spark plug, a clean one with the correct gap setting can make all the difference.

Well thas the induction sorted....if it aint that then lesson two in Carls guide to bike maintinence will be the top end rebuild muhahaha!

Bear in mind all my exp is on a TZR and they are different bike....but **** it if u dont give it a go u will neva no :p

Do i get some prize for longest post eva dan?
