Big Yamaha dealers have a BIG problem, they have loads of unregistered R6 and R1's 05 model, they will bend over backwards to sell you one
A friend of mine was gonna get the 06, but the dealer did such a good deal he got a 55 reg 05 model, The retail price was £9499, dealer reduced it to £8500, and threw in an Arai lid, AND knocked £100 of a leather suit
The big Yam dealers, ordered too many, and they just didnt sell, the 05 model wasnt a big improvement on the 04 so peopled didnt bother.
So Yam dealers have all this stock to move, before the 06 models come in (end of jan 06) because the 06 R6 is such a different bike, it will leave the remaining 05 models just sitting there gathering dust
The R1 hasnt got a lot of changes for 06, unless you can afford the r1 sp, which is £13,995
I am on the verge on putting deposit on 06 R1 Raven, they have offered me a great p/x deal on my 05, and im tempted, but im just trying to squeeze a bit of extra "goodies" with it before i decide!
If your not bothered about having 06 on your plate, then you really can get a bargain 05 model
