Okay, ive only had my Gixer for about 4-5 months now and ditched the standard dunlops about 3 months ago coz i just couldnt get on with them. Im running michellin pilot sports at the moment but have found the rear wearing a tad quick down the middle!! (yes the preasures are okay!)
This is what i need some outside input on......
Im after a tyre thats really good and confidence inspiring in corners (im not to hot on harsh cornering...planning a track day early next year to sort that out) particularly in the wet but also a tyre thats not gonna wearout realy quick as my bike is the only form of transport i have and i use it all the time all year!!

Seeing as its going to getting wet now you may want to look at michelin 020s or some pirelli diablos or diablo corsas. Both tyres handle corners well but will not wear out too fast, especially the pirellis. If you go the 020 route and get on with them, you could try out 010s when the weather is better, they are are much better tyre at turning in.

Cool. Ive run 020's on my bandit streetfighter and liked them, but at the same time it was a totaly different riding position with flat bars, so smashing the bar round into a corner seemed a lot easier!
Im gonna give the pirrelis a go.
I'll let you know how i get on

The first thing i did when i got the R1 was change the tyres from michellin to diablo corsa's
Such a difference, like its on rails now
Ok they only last me 3-4k miles (if im lucky)
But the R6 has them as well now

i've got brigestone 090's on 1 vfr
(really grippy, lots of corner holding - not to bad in the wet)
and the other has b/s 92's on. (Last longer than 090's and are better in the wet too, but not as grippy in the dry)
If i were you i'd have a look at tread patterns and durability before commiting to anything... and a tyre that works well on say a mille or vfr wont always work well on ur bike due to different weight and suspenstion setups...

So it seems it either the pirelli's or bridgestones. Ive always got on okay with the bridgestones, but like i said earlier, a completely different bike!
This is the first sports bike ive owned so i'm still discovering the best rubber for the bike and the spped i ride (now that ive got some decent power!!)
Dont get me wrong, my bandit streetfighter was the nutts, great fun but i dont think i'llbe going back there just yet!
