After about a weeks wait, i finally get my rather expensive genuine yamaha second oversize piston rings from GP's in brentwood.

get them home, open the box - all nice and shiney with funy bits on the edge ready to fit n run in.

Get the old rings and compare them - old rings are bigger - ****!

get the new rings in the cylinder to test the end gaps with a feeler gauge only to find that the rings are too small my about 2 mm!!!!

!!****!! :x :x :x

What now?!

I think i have a DT engine which would explain the second oversize measurements matching up to my engine in the manual perhaps but i didnt think of that till now

ARGHHH!!!!!

 Sorry to hear that m8. You may just have a DT cylinder - there is very little difference between the DT and the TZR of that year. Its the same with my bike... apart from the gearing, its identical to the DTR125R - which is an english bike, so theres one gettout if my engine is beyond repair

Where's the engine number stamped on your bike? The gearbox?

Bet GP's wont take them back either

Why dont you get a new(er) engine m8, or send it up to stanny baby? they could just repair it for you or do a complete rebuild - would save u money in the long run and youd have a nice fast engine then.
