Following on from a conversation we had last night, we really need to come up with a new catchy logo for Essex Bikers that can be used on clothing, stickers etc. and obviously, the site itself.

If anyone knows of any graphic designers who would either do this out of the kindness of their hearts in return for some advertising on here (main portal page with the rest) or at a reduced cost, then please see if they would be interested.

It would also be good to see any ideas you lot have in this thread... like Jays one.

Once we have this, we can look into getting some branded stuff.

I'm so chuffed that this site has finally got a nice size group of decent people... it was really nice meeting you all last night and i'll really try and make it to more of the outings you plan.

Cheers!

OK, I'll leave it at that, if anyone else wants a go, even if it is just a scribble I can redraw for you, then go for it. Just because you cant draw doesnt mean you have bad ideas. If you are happy to leave it at this then someone needs to set up a vote, and we can get going.

Had a quick go a drawing a cartoon bike, as you can see they look fine when coloured (albeit very roughly) but a pile of poo when converted to one colour which is what is needed for t-shirts and stickers, having said that, it is just my opinion, if you lot like 'em I shant throw my toys out of the pram.

can't believe i have totally missed out this thread! i was in the pub last night and realised i didn't have a clue what was going on

so here goes

I love the first one and I love the 3rd one.

I love the first one because I love retro stuff and face it, I ride at retro speed so it's good for me!

but agree it would look better on stickers.

3rd one would be cool for t-shirts.

and on t-shirts i would rather have a black one with white logo if that's poss.

i thank you

**** hot.Very very nice veephwoar.I was wondering how it would work on T-shirts and stickers..............Love it.......I have to confess,I didn't draw the bikes from scratch, incase anyone thinks I did.The problem is i'm VERY good with a pencil and paper and have quite a good eye for art ,but totally crap with a mouse and computor. So I got an idea in my head then put it on to paper, then browsed the net for hours looking at art sites and I found an artist who had a few scribbles of bikes that looked similar to my ones, although my original drawing has people on the bikes and doing burnouts against the shield. He said that they were free to use as he had done them just for fun. Most of them were crap,so I just took a couple that I liked the look of and adjusted them slightly(like adding the arse and matching the coloring).I just wish I could draw straight on to the computor with a pen,I could do better ones then.It took me bloody ages trying to adjust those bikes with a mouse, and my mouse jumps and sticks AAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!.
Anyway..........I looooove the sticker theme.......What a team eh!!.........Cheers

Those t-shirts are £15 and come in white, grey, light blue and pastel green. What i may do is order just one and see what the quality is like in the flesh so to speak. They look good on the computor screen but I'd like to see what the print comes out like. There's lots of other styles of t-shirt as well, long sleeve, polo shirt,v-neck.Same with the girls, there's a few different styles of top.....Oh......and hoodys and sweatshirts.......

Well lads - proper job!! The design is looking fantastic :)

Faceslider, since you are running rapidly with this one, maybe once you've had a look at one and if you think the quality is spot on - maybe you should get a paypal account or similar (you may already have one) so peeps can put there orders in, you get cash up front and everyone is happy :D :D

We need to make a decision on the user name business. The problem is,if people want to have there name or something else written the cost and the work is gonna go up.Most places do a discount if you buy a batch, but if there all slightly different then i would assume that they would have to be printed individually witch could cost more, but I'm not sure I'll look into it.Also depending on the name, you need to decide where you want it,in what font, size then send it to me then I would have to position it on the blank t-shirt (to the users requirements). Then I would send it on to the company, and with the speed of my computer and the amount of people who could possible want a t-shirt it could take me ages.
Also some people names are quite long, for example(eversoslighltyfasterthanu)
That's some name to get on a shirt, you could split it or make the lettering smaller, but if the letters are to small it would look to squashed and unreadable. It may look OK on the screen but in the flesh it could look pants(had the same prob with a couple of my tattoos).
So, really we need to come to a 100% decision on design(although i think everyone 's happy with the design,if your not or think it needs changing or something added please say,)and weather we have user name or not and where to put it.Another option is get them as they are and let the individual get there names put on.There's plenty of places that do that...... if it turns out that everyone has there heart set on user names as well, then I'll get it done.I'm gonna email some places today anyway,so they can advise me on the best way of doing it.I'm actually really enjoying doing this,I've finally found something I can make a worth while contribution to.(Apart from the joke section, even then there not really worth while).
So basically is desiccation time........What do you think guys&gals
I need a 100% answer on what I should do.....
........Cheers.....
I dont think Dan has seen the design yet.......

to save time money and effort i think leave 'em blank and if people want names etc.c.. get em done themselves? thats what ill do

Juvenilerider

i didnt mean BLANK i mean, put the logo on the back n front nd let people do the names seperately

A place local to here will do black and white printing, large logo on back, small one on front for £6 + VAT per tee. If individual names are wanted on sleeves, it would be approx another £1.50 + Vat per tee.

I reckon, see how much FS gets quoted, then decide whether names are necessary... after all, he is putting in all the effort of getting it sorted, it might be better not to complicate it further :D

I've got a friend with an auto embroidery machine (small scale!), it could even be an idea to just get the tees screen printed, then, get names embroidered on the sleeves, small size, before they're dished out :)

I've justed emailed a place in kent. They will do one with a small logo on the front for £4.95 +vat. They can do a big one on the back but they never had the price.I cant see it being much more.I've asked them loads of questions in the email about prices for names and bulk orders, can I have a sample etc etc.
I only really used that last place for the photo. It was the best one I could find to show everyone what it would look like,Then everyone loved it.I'm still gonna get one from them to see what the quality is like. It's only £15.
I've got to get samples though from whoever i try.I aint getting any old **** that will fade after one wash......
As soon as i here back from any of these places I'll let you all know.....Cheers people

I've just had a reply from xstream in Kent and they said

"Hi,

Many thanks for contacting us. We would be able to do this for you but for a print like this we would need a minimum order of x10 garments.
White TShirt with large back print and left breast print one colour - £9 + vat
White Ladies TShirt printed as above £9 + vat

For a printed name on arm in one colour please add £1.50 + vat

Many thanks, Fiona Hughes"

I'm just about to contact the place who does my work shirts see what they quote me.Maybe, if you dont mind JETSKI,you could show a copy of the design to that place near you and see what they come up with:grin2 :grin2

Hi all - and cheers Jay for lobbing this thread under my nose ;)

I love the idea of using the Essex Swords in the logo - looks really good, well done FACESLIDER.

veephwoar - your smaller version with just the bike is also good - would be cool i think if the bike itself had the essex swords and {EB} or summit on it.

It would be good if we could have a full blown version like this, and also a smaller one to use in places where a big logo is too much.

This is just my opinion, but I do not like white t-shirts. I've had them done before for other things and although they look the nuts in images on the net, when you get them they can look a bit plain/cheap. What about a black t-shirt with the logo in white or another colour? or a grey t-****... just a suggestion ;)

Lastly, the username thing... I think it would be a lot of ag and a lot more dollar to have the usernames printed. It would work out a lot cheaper to get a job lot of different sizes, and then if you want the username put on, have that done yourself at a printers.

Let me know what you think :grin2

Oooooh faceslider - you're obviously not feeling appreciated!! So I think that everybody should appreciate faceslider a bit more. You're doing a grand job of it and at the end of the day, with you putting the effort in, you get an awful lot of say as to what the end product is :D Don't worry so much :D It looks awesome :D I'll get in touch with that printing co and show them the design etc and get a quote :D Get back to you soon as I've heard. grey does the job for me, also i am led to believe that grey seems to be a popular choice with T shirt printers as its a neutral colour that doesnt give many problems with colour running etc and maintains the true colours of the actual print ;)

Hi all - and cheers Jay for lobbing this thread under my nose ;)

Hey, it's what i'm here for :D

I think a black tee with white logo would be a good place to start.. then if things work out, maybe expand in to diff colours... and after a think, user names would be better put on by the user if that's what they want... makes life that much easier for the printer and cheaper for us

Right, I have come out the other side of the hell that was last week. I am going to draw up the design in hires before anyone gets ought printed. I will try and do it this weekend if I stay awake. (I'm getting too old to go three days with only 10 hours sleep!). I'm not fussed what colour we go for but will have a word with my lil' brother about having names put on shirts afterwards. If we only do a few at a time he may be able to slip 'em though at work gratis. I will see him tomorrow and check. I am now going to have a very long, very hot bath and chill out.

Hi Dan,
part of my work involves design conceptuals and I am happy to throw some idea's into the pot for discussion, although if there are any idea's already out there it would be handy to hear/see them, some signatures have interesting logo's already these could be used/improved as a basis.

a good starting point for a brain stormer is to say what is not wanted,, cuts lengthy discussions on design issues.
