No it hasnt, just the standard ones. I wondered if its possible to fit USD forks ie off of a TZRR or a later TZR onto it???
If so, have you any idea on price...I've checked ebay but nothing so far.
Thanks
Nik
The frame on your TZR is quite a lot different from the later Engligh and foreign TZRR/TZR125RR so I dont think you're going to have much luck.
Try popping down to your local Yamaha dealer, and see what they say - they'll have the more information on the forks on ther feiche.

Hmmm u know ive been thinking of doing this lil mod to my brothers ( my old tzr) as ive got like 3 sets of forks and wheels for a tzr125r
Firstly if u plan on changing the forks the top and bottom yokes will also have to be changed as the usd forks are alot wider than the standard Rwu forks this brings its own lil problem see if u change the yokes it means u have to change the clocks or at least the bracket because the Tzr125 the clocks bolt onto the top yoke but on the tzr125r the clocks bolt onto the bracket that holds the headlight in place .. ( what a bummer!)
Not sure if it would work anyway because i think the actual head set is a few mill wider so the cups and bearings wouldnt fit anyway but i could be wrong ..
Also if u plan to change all of the above ull also have to change the front wheel
1: The usd forks are slightly wider apart because the wheel is wider on a tzrr than a tzr's although u could make spacer i guess
2: The ~Front caliper on usd forks are alot higher due to the much larger front disc usually used in conjunction with usd forks
Also because u have to change the front wheel ul have to change the rear wheel why? cuz it will look odd hehe and changing the rear wheel bring up even more problems hence the reason i havnt been botherd to try this lil conversion on my bros tzr
I surgest if u really want usd forks ethier part ex ur bike for a l8r tzrr or wait till u get a bigger bike ie CBR R6 etc
All that said its far from impossible to do
Ill have ago at this lil mod the weekend and post u on how it goes :)

Thanks Dan and Fubar, your replies have been appreciated, :D
Although I'm not shy when it comes down sorting out the mechanics on my TZR I'm not sure if its worth the effort on a bike I may have to sell (unwillingly) to get a bigger one. It's alot more involved than I'd first thought  .
I'd be interested to hear how you get on though Fubar so keep us posted :)
Thanks again lads
Nik
oooo ooooo - what ya thinkin of gettin

now thats the question!!! :D
I have still yet to pass my test, which shouldnt be too long now and I always wanted a GSXR600 but I've found the older one is abit top heavy just getting off the stand!
I also like the looks of the R6 (probably beyond my price range), Thundercat and the SV650S, I know, abit varied but I have one other added problem, being a tad vertically challenged at 5'3 I struggle to reach the ground on some of the bigger bikes :?
Any suggestions?? I dont like custom jobs or tourers/Pan's
Thanks
Nik
Why not get a 400 then???? They're rapid enough, believe me.
You'll get cheaper insurance aswell.... 600 with no no claims and a recent test pass will be a bomb.
Only 2 to choose from really, CBR400 or the VFR400.

I thought of 400's but was put off by too many ppl telling me horror stories of being unable to get parts easily or at reasonalbe cost for imports.... I know the ZXR400 is the right height for me but I need a bike I can work on myself to a degree so wouldnt an import make things difficult?
Nik
Not if you get an import that was made in this country at the same time, such as the NC30 (VFR400R) like mine.
You can even get a Haynes manual for it, and parts for me havnt been a problem at all, from a dealer or decond hand.
Yes indeed... i did miss out the ZX400R, but Ive never really been a Kawasaki fan... ive heard too many stories of too many engine problems
Tim (FingerZ!) has an F Reg GSXR400, but that is an import which I think you would have problems getting parts for.... i know he had problems when looking for new carbs.
Dan.

are doing a deal on carbs at £10 each. they might have some for him.
Do Yamaha do a ZFR 400?
yeah. My finger slipped!
No, i dont think they did a 400 FZR.. Ive only ever seen an FZR600 that a mate has.
someone here has an FZR750 that looks just like my TZR! lol
This has gona a little bit 4 stroke seeing that its in the 2 stroke section??
lol.... and completely off the original thread ;)
Apologies KrazyKitty :)
My mates FZR600 looks just like my old TZRR un all... i saw it and though it was the nuts lol.

Erm its not at all possible to fit the Tzrr usd forks onto the older tzr without heavy modification the for a start the stem that goes through the headstock is about 10 mill wider so i couldnt use the original headstock cups or and the head races nor could i use the tzr125r cups because the tzr125r cups are also alot wider so no go on the tzr usd conversion :( however the rs125 forks fit quite nicley but the problem was the stem was alittle bit to long so u need a spacer underneath it and then u have no where to house ur yamaha ignition unit on the rs yokes :( or the clocks so i gave up there didnt see the point in carrying on because i 1 didnt want my bro using my rs forks as i need them lool, and it would have look **** anyway because there was absolutly no way of putting the tzrr rear wheel or swingarm in its wider that the tzr frame its self :S
Well it was fun trying getting coverd in grease n what not but im afriad it just isnt gona work im glad to see ur thinking of the other option of getting a bigger bike that comes with usd forks :D
gl on ur choice i wouldnt get the zxr400 they are underpowerd and from what ive heard they are very unreliable ..
Fubar
Something tells me she isn't going to bother!

hi, i was just browsing throught this topic, and noticed someone dismiss the existance of an fzr400. How dare you!! If it wasnt for the difference in insurance i would definatly get round to passing my test and buying one.
http://www.angelfire.com/anime2/mihoshi152/bike/fzr400.jpg
nice huh?
Thats blindin! I didnt know they did a 400 FZR.
Are they a lot cheaper to insure than the VFR/CBR 400 then?
Dan.
Have you asked dan about the stickers yet spider??
If not i will get in touch with him.
