View Full Version : A Bitch About The 'New' Site...
Tried to get used to it... not working now hate it... im sure im not alone here...
I loved the old site... got nothing against the new logo it rocks... but the FORUM itself has changed and now the links in emails dont work, the updating process has resulted in sending me emails about V. old posts!
And now frankly im p*ssed off with the site!!!!
Sorry i know it was hard work etc but ive seen better work done by a 2 year old... the new forum seriously sucks in my opinion...
Not that my opinion matters much but i thought i would share it with you guys as that is the kind of guy i am...

I'm sensing you don't like it.
Give it a while longer mate, it has a lot of features that didn't exist before, and it is a work in progress.

lol gimmie me access J u know illl have fun! right what u gotta realise and wow im acutally gona defend dan for once! Dan has paid for this software not for him but for all of us! and eyh there are limited stuff atm i.e 5 smilies per post etc and the links in the mails aint working yet but this takes time one thing u will learn bout danny boy is he is a very busy geezer! and a geezer he is he started this site as a small community now its grown into a brotherhood! and who pays for the hosting us u say no he does! he also maintains the site he dont make any money from it and he doesnt ask for any money so how bout cut him some slack ! and give him a chance to sort out the little niggles if summink aint working then post it in the OI ADMIN section and he will get round to it when he can! he is modding the forum practically on his own atm tark is busy working now and doesnt have much time to use the net and because of the new software he hasnt had time to put jamies mod status back up so give him a chance yeh! and dan m8 wen im in essex next on the next rideout i owe u a pint ;)

I'm done taking the moans personally - there's only so many times I can tell people that things will be fixed. If you dont like it, do one! :D
Emails work fine, and if you read other posts, you would know that the smilies will be added to soon and the limit lifted. If its too difficult for you to grasp, then I can write a "Forum posting for dummies", but it wont be long...
1) Click "New Topic" or "Reply"
2) Type your message
3) Click "Submit Reply"
Seems simple to me! :rolleyes:
Oh and a good point about emails regarding old threads... I meant to tell people about that. There was a problem with the webserver this site is hosted on a while back, and a lot of email notifications got jammed in the queue. For some reason, they were then sent a month later. This was down to the ****ty old forum software - which, I might add, is insecure and very buggy ;)

Dan dose the software have the facilitys to email all members, maybe a quick one to tell people about the upgrade might bring a few back ;)

I don't think it really matters too much what it looks like does it? as long as you can post.
I do think that this incarnation is alot easier on the eye then the last one. The last one looked like it was out of the 80's!

Im cool with it, it does look better than the old forum.
