Tark
24-06-2003, 01:35 PM
yeah its an L reg 94 model. Full YPVS. Standard apart from the silkolene stickers.

Just ordered some diddy indicators for the front so i can get it through the back door!! Does any one know if I can get fairing indicators for the front and put diddy ones on back?

You guys should put a nice beefy air filter in, re jet the carb to match that and a nice shiney Micron can

Ive seen a couple of TZRR's that have had that done, and man do they pick up speed.

Mine of course, only went when it wanted to (didnt it Tim) ... very tempremental was my old teaser, when it didnt want to go, it damm well wouldnt - no matter where i was!!

Good exercise tho, pushing a TZRR home... :x

What air filter do you put on just a bolt n K&N and then what size do you re-jet it to? I might get a full exhaust system cos there is romours that the exhaust is restricted??

God dam i am never going to know if this thing is running full power or not!!

As far as air filters/re-jetting/ exhausts go nobody knows exactly

And dont even start with the "Boost bottle" YEIS thing..... :(

Dan

Didnt FUBAR post a reply to you on here somewhere... detailing how to de restrict the bike?

Tark
08-07-2003, 07:00 PM
Yeah he did but knone knows exactly how to do it. I have opened the power valve but people are saying that there is an electronic restriction and i'm not going to go arround snipping wires cos someone on the net said so! I dont want to blow anything up. My local yamaha dealer said that there is an electronic restriction and that need removing and the powervalcve setting up properly. £56 to do it all for me.

I might just get it done by a pro and then i have the invoice and recipt if it goes wrong and i can prove its been done when i come to sell.

Yeah, i agree mate - thats the way I always go about things. Problem is, I came unstuck once when i paid legendary Stan Stephens to do mine as you know.

Difference with you, is you bought the bike off this chap, and you seem to know them pretty well so i'd just go for it. All I can say as far as restrictions go is that on the italian TZRR, is that the restrictions (if any, cos most Greys come de restricted... the UK that has stoopid bhp laws) are in the reed, the exhaust and the powervalve as Fubar says.

Take it to your dealer mate. 56 quid isnt too bad is it.... thatd cost double round here just to breathe on it.
If it hasnt improved, kick your dealer in the nuts.

You should get nice, steady power released up to 6k revs, then itll shoot away after that once its been done.

Good luck!

D.

I have checked the exhaust but didn't find anything towards the port end. If i cant get to it from there i'm not bothering!! As for the reeds i'm not sure. The dealer said that there was an electronic restriction, (which to be honest is what a heard off another chap on a forum) I might take it in next month after i have passed my test and have some money after my birthday (1st August).

Send cards with £5 in to the following addres!!

lol...

.eere.. i read BIKE magazine rite.. cos its definatly the best mag available for bikes, but someone bought me one ive not heard of today... called TWO (Two wheels only) and last month they done a competition for a BRAND BLOODY NEW daytona. Theres a picture of the winner, a bloke from essex LOL!!

WHy cant that be me... i was a brand new 600 sportsbike for free.. and my picture in the magazine...

Anyway, back to the plot... are you doing your test soon then? You doing a direct access course or just taking the test?

Tark
08-07-2003, 09:56 PM
Eh i read Performance Bikes. And on the plot i am gonna do my normal test on a 125 etc etc cos i'm 18 in august and my CBT will run out on my birthday. Not old enough to do the direct access course.

As for the derestricting i want to get it done but not keen on how much this local dealer knows! I might know more than them!! Coyboys!

Dan

Does your dealer not have a workshop/garage?

It must be wierd taking your bike test after racing for so long.... bet you've got loads of bad habbits to get rid of!! I know i did when i done my direct access.

"Cover the brake when your stationary, Dan"
"STOP WHEELIEEE ING DAN!" Ok, that never happened... but how funny would that be on an ER500 lol

Tark

I have rode on the roads for longer than i have raced so i should be ok. I dont have that many bad habits. Al i will have to remember is to cover the brake and life saver checks. (i hope!! Dont wanna fail! )
