Okay.....so my bike doesnt like being washed!!
I have a GSXR750Y and when i was the bugger i avoid getting water into the air intakes and down the exhaust...however this doesnt seem to matter because when i got to start the thing it wont have any of it!
The electrics all work..including the starter but it just wont pick up the starter just keeps whiring but noothing fires in the engine!....i'll occasionaly get a backfire from the gasses igniting from the end can.
if i keep at it it'll eventually start....im kinda thinking the plugs are getting wet or something like that?....any ideas!

i'd say wet plugs. First thing to check is the plugs are ok, then check the HT lead make sure sparking is happening... then come back for more ideas :)

were you using a pressure washer??? Coz that gets water in to all the nooks and crannies. I'm bettin water went down the HT lead to the plug... it's possible, done it myself

If the plug sits in a recess then generally the recess fills with water, the water gets under the HT lead boot and is able to earth out the spark against the cylinder head, basically you dont get a spark anymore until the water dries out.
The problem is though that even though the water dries, it can still leave a trace where its been that can continue to conduct electricity (not always the case) and so you end up with a weaker spark because its still trying to earth at the easiest point aswell as igniting the electrode in the chamber.
Its trial and error but i got out of the habit of jet washing my bikes now for this reason alone, its also too easy to end up damaging sensitive stuff like your radiator when you get too close with 80 bar of water :D
