View Full Version : Insurance on restricted 33bhp bike
When i pass my test and get a bike thats restricted to 33 bhp what will the insurance be like.
Say for instance i get a VFR400. Will it be cheaper to insurance then a full blown VFR cos its restricted?
If i got a CB600 hornet would that be higher to insure even though its going to be the same power?
I dont know how it works to be honest and i dont think the restriction will be on for long!!
I have the restriction kit somewhere for an NC30 mate... if I can find it, and you get a VFWAARRRR, let me know and you can ave it if you want.
Check my topic above this one, and you'll see how much i paid for my TZRR.

Ask a local Yamaha dealer, they should be able to get one from Yamaha for you. You'll have to let them fit it tho, and they will give you a certificate that you can send a !!COPY!! of to your insurance company.

Im afraid the Insurance will be exactly the same as if it was full power :(
And spider did u know if u unrestrict ur bike it is fraud not to mention ur insurance will be 100% invalid if u were to crash it or if u were stoped and the bike was taken to a test center? "naughty boy"
I surgest u pass ya test ride it restricted ( if u can get it restricted that is)
for the 2 years to get a feel for it .. I know it may seem like a longtime but it flys by ..
