hubby is well up for the bike thing, mentioned le mans and the fact that if he got his skates on he could come on his r6 (hee hee hee!).....turns out he has been on the phone today to find out how much it all costs etc.

so here's the question. when you do the theory test, can anyone remember if it was an LCD monitor on the computer?

and do you have to use a different computer for the hazard perception/reaction thing (i don't know what this is but apparently you have to do one)? is this one an LCD one?

he can't use normal monitors because he has epilepsy (no fits for years now touch wood) and he is flicker-sensitive. so no strobes etc and no computer monitors and definitely no shopping in tv shops....! he was fine when he did his theory test for his car licence because someone read it all for him but it was a few years ago so the monitors might have been updated....

help!

Was in there the other day, its CRT monitors. But they do say they can cater for most things, give the DSA a bell and ask em :)

Was CRT when I did it, and yes you do the whole test on the same machine

I did mine on Tuesday, so I'm very up to date. They are the big box style PC, but when you are signing in, they say "Are you happy to read from the computer". Maybe they give you a paper one if you can't, or something.

Its bloody stupid. You do the multiple choice bit on the 'puter, then you get played 3 or 4 different videos. When you become aware of something that would cause you to take evasive action you have to click the mouse. You cant just sit there constantly clicking or you fail so you just click, for instance, when the huge f*ck off petrol tanker pulls out in front of you. (hint hint)

Vidoes clips are played on a computer screen but you dont have a key board. Just a mouse to click. The program runs automatically. You usually have headphones on too. At the end of the test the results are printed out and the guy tells you how you have done.

You can get practise CDs and they are much harder than the real thing. If you can do the practise ones you will have no problem at all. I will see if I can find it and post if off to you if its any help.
