When are they out? I followed one through Chelmsford town centre today and tried to race it only to be left with the biggest smile on my face as he nailed the throttle open :D obviously I would of won, but he had supercorsas (as standard) and I know they aren't very good in the damp but... shutup!

If anyone has £7000 to lend/give me, please do!!!!!

Oh sweet Jebus it's the most beautiful thing on the planet....

im asuming some of the bikes are being delivered already, just had a look in bike magazine and theres no mention of an official release date...but youre right, they are so bloody gorgeous!!!.......had a sit on the one at the NEC and its so little, you could throw that thing around like a BMX, and all the reviews say the same.....(obviously not comparing it to a BMX, that was my journalistic input)

and for £7200 its a bargain...........maybe......no.....yes, yes it is!!!!

Yeah it's TINY, it's not much bigger than my bike!

It's so good looking and sounds so good even with the standard pipes!

I'm not sure whether it might of been a Journalist or someone riding it because i'm sure they don't come out for a few months, i want one though! :D

harriebird
31-01-2006, 12:24 PM
no not yet, i was meant to go and check out a couple in rayleigh on saturday but i had a really bad feeling of impending doom as i was flying down the a12 and decided not to go..... think it was my bank balance telling me to get real !

might try again this saturday and see if the stars are going to let me go this time!

the captain
31-01-2006, 12:30 PM
cool...do it......i think you might get on okay with it, a few friends of mine who have owned them didnt like them because the bike was so sure of itself.

You know, good in corners, no hint of twitching

only draw back i know of is theyre not the most comfortable of bikes, hard on the back and knees, so maybe some adjustable rearsets to make things easier could be a sound second investment

the seat height is tiny, 790mm compared to 825 for the average gsxr, so am hoping that i won't have too many knee issues! i can't wait to have a go on one but am a bit scared too becasuse i am totally in awe of them.

but i had a really really good ride on sunday, felt the happiest i have ever felt on the twisties even though i still wasn't going quick and i really want to have a daft impractical bike before i hit 30!!!!!! and babies start to come on the agenda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo we need more greyhounds!

Juvenilerider
31-01-2006, 12:44 PM
I've just been looking at the spec for the 675, its got probably the smallest petrol tank ever, 17.4 litres, inc. reserve! that's less than VFR

Well I am hoping to be working for Triumph this year (in my year out) and shall be investigating how much discount I can get exactly!!! :-) That's if I don't get to lift a 675, which are insanely beautiful and sound even better with race exhausts on [saw a few black ones (strange considering they don't make a black one) whizzing around being tested before I went in for my initial tests] :-) So I'm back on monday for next stage and shall be doing some more drooling over all the bikes mainly being teh 675!

07-02-2006, 07:58 PM
Haha!!!

'fraid not!! I'm only going to be working there for a year and so will be in no position to hire people! Unless u will work for nothing...?! :) But possibly in another few years if they have me back I can see what there is! :)

And I found out today (quick turn around) that they want me back for the final interviews, so fingers crossed!

Already one of those 675s has been written off, and one's been stolen. Someone stole a demo bike from a dealer in middlesex. Been anywhere near middlesex recently Sam?

Juvenilerider
08-02-2006, 07:48 AM
Middlewhere? :D I wish I had the confidence to steal one and get away with it

Jims
08-02-2006, 01:35 PM
haha!

well i shall wait and see if i get it and then if i'm allowed to havea PA/tea maker! :)

I live in middlesex... but wasn't me! honest! :) although being sat right in front of one in the reception waiting to go in was very tempting!

Juvenilerider
08-02-2006, 01:43 PM
Where abouts are they based?

Perhaps not get me a job, but just the security codes for the alarms? ha

Jims
08-02-2006, 01:59 PM
haha! I'll be an undergrad on an industrial placement... doubt they'll be going giving me any important security codes!!! Think your best bet is to just wait outside the factory and wait until they go testing (on the A5)! :)

they're based in Hinckley in Leicestershire. They have two main factories up there and that's it! They do factory tours if u book. Well worth going if you are into that sort of thing. It's quite interesting how they make their bikes in order to compete with the Japanese, yet still be quite small due to lower funding. They also check every bike that comes out of the factory and make all of them on one line! Apart from the Rocket III engine, which is too big for the main engine production line! Like I said, it's very cool indeed and I only got a smaller factory tour because of time, but the normal one is much longer.

Juvenilerider
08-02-2006, 02:49 PM
Are there many places to say... ambush a test rider along that route?

EverSoSlightlyFasterThanU
08-02-2006, 03:49 PM
with a shotgun

Juvenilerider
08-02-2006, 03:59 PM
Too risky - don't wanna damage the bike

EverSoSlightlyFasterThanU
08-02-2006, 03:59 PM
ok then with the bitch

Juvenilerider
08-02-2006, 04:00 PM

Jims
08-02-2006, 05:48 PM
I am saying nothing seeing as I haven't got the job yet and u never know who reads these forums! :)

All I will say is that if you have seen the latest MCN with the Tiger tests in it... well that roundabout is the one right outside the main factory, so it's hardly top secret, high security testing...
