Hi, as far as i was awear the backpressure in a 2stroke came from the box under the bike, so this should mean that you can put anytail pipe on i that you choose, correct?

A friend of mine has told me that the full exhaust determines the correct back pressure and customising the can will effect the running of the bike.

which one is correct or is it a bit of both?

you should really put the rite one for a given bike on the bike

the backbox or expansion chamber (the fat bit of the down pipe) creates the right backpressure but then the end can also effects it as well as muffles the sound so as drew just said u should use the correct one for the correct bike ;)
