First ride of the year

Took my bike out of the garage last night for a ride down to Len Wade to put it in for its service... put all my leathers on, cleaned my lid, and the damm battery is flat!!!!!!!!!!!!!! arrgh. Put it all back in the garage :(

Wanted so bad to fail my XL250R on it's MOT, he asked me how much it weighed so he could do the brake test by the book. I told him I used to know, but I'd forgotten it when memorising the crankshaft machining tolerances and the middle names of Sochiro Honda's grandchildren. This wound him up a bit, so he did the brake test and was incensed that it passed that, so he said the tyres were illegal. I pointed out that FIM enduro tyres have to be road legal and that they were speed rated. He passed it and wrote out the certificate with very bad grace. Never went back after that.
