Sorry,
Just another little b*tch because they're idiots!
I was approaching a roundabout on the way to Braintree this morning and noticed 3 traffic cops over by the 3exit right of the roundabout, so killed the revs and trickled round... to find the roundabout covered in debri, bit's of bumper, hubcaps, glass, mud, grass etc.
After avoiding it all I went on my way, ofcourse had to turn round and have a look though, and I saw that a car had gone straight across the roundabout, straight over the other side, and into a ditch, which is pretty bad... what is so ****ing aggravating though is that there was 6 Police Officers there, and not one of the idiots was cleaning the crap of the road, all SIX of them were standing around the car and its driver AND WHY DOES IT TAKE 6 TRAFFIC COPS AND 3 TRAFFIC CARS TO SIT WITH A DRIVER WAITING FOR AN AMBULANCE?!
Surely with that much man power and equipment some kind of warning could of been put up, or in place to stop any more accidents happening?
But no, they were happy, they got to drive really fast with lights on making loads of noise - job done I suppose. Screw the poor bikes coming round the roundabout to find it covered in plastic and stuff that will cause a bike to crash

Yes, yes you do!
It doesn't fill you with faith when because of their lazyness I had to move across lanes to avoid debris on the road - obviously with life savers etc, but explain to me how that is, "Making Essex a Safer Place".
When I had my incident in November, the Traffic Police arrived, breahtlized me, and took off without checking any of my details, or caring that the other driver had left before they got there? Didn't they think it was a bit fishy he was in such a rush to leave before the old bill got there.
They're usless.

I'm going to stick up for them here.
In all fairness why should they clean the road up?! Its not their job. I don't agree to having 6 policemen there dealing with it, but you shouldnt slate them for 'not cleaning up the road'
Yes some coppers are c*nts, but i hate the way everyone slags them off.

Paul - thats EXACTLY their job, to keep the roads safe, there's nothing more dangerious than debris on the roads, they're there to stop speeders etc but their entire roll is keeping the roads safe, thats why they sweep up glass at crashes and stuff.
So if there wasn't a crash there, but a Traffic Cop came upto the roundabout to find it covered in broken bits of car, you wouldn't expect them to flick on the blues'n'twos n throw the crap off the road??

Actually i dont think its entirely their job anymore to clean up the debris, strange as it may sound the old saying "not my job" springs to mind ;)

It might not be in their job description, but surely as part of keeping the roads safe they should clear it up?

you would have thought so, especially if it was causing a threat to other road users ;)
but could have should have would have dont mean anything once its been ignored, and chances are none of them actually thought about it at the time either ;)

Would cleaning up the debris, messed up the accident investigation?

Maybe, but not as much as a bike wiping out on it.

surely if they were worried about that they would close the road to stop people driving over it

exactly, just lazyness, and if they didnt think to do that's even worse - they're usless

Keeping streets safe, yes..Keeping streets clean..No. I wouldn't have been too much to sweep up tho.. As someone said, they do a good job really..Until they pull me for my small plate and race can!..

if you go into your USERCP and then select edit options and scroll right to the bottom you can actually specify whether or not you want other signatures to be visible, that way at least when you are at work you can knock it off ;)
surely if they were worried about that they would close the road to stop people driving over it
They may well of been waiting for authorisation to do just that.
I must say, I'm getting really sick of the anti police attitude that seems to be spreading.
It's a damn tough job done by not enough people, and everyone seems to think that the call they've just made about children playing on the grass outside making a noise should have a panda car with lights a siren blaring there in 1 min!
Yeah, I know they can be a pain a lot of the time, and some of them are a pain in the bum, but things would be much worse if they weren't about.
I'm not doing one of those "Oh, the Police can do no wrong". I know they can. I work with them! But cut them just a tiny piece of slack, please.

Sorry Leo but imo Police are a bunch of useless ............
Few weeks back at work (new years day) i arrived at 9pm to find that some little ****s had used bolt croppers and made a 5ft hole in the fence and used the site as a race track for their scramblers!
I called the police and the convo went something like this..........
Pw) Do you have cctv?
me) Yes they have continuasly ridden past 5 camera's!
pw) Do you have security lighting?
me) No we have external lighting for the camera's!
pw) Well security lighting would be more of a detterrant!
me) Not in the daytime it wouldn't and they obviously would'nt have been a dettarant as if they were not bothered about the cctv sytem then why would they care about a light!
pw) Have you got a sign saying it is private property?
me) No we have a six foot high fence running around the building that they took a pair of bolt cropper to, surely thats a give-away that it is private property
pw) Someone will be over during the early hours as all our officers are busy right now, Is there anything else i can help you with?
me) How about an incident number!

07:30 the next morning i go through the gap in the fence and notice the tyre tracks going up the middle of the road, so i call the station back and explain that the kids use the field behind every weekend so they must live close, if they send someone over before it rains they will be able to follow the tracks!
Police turn up half hour later, i show them the hole and the tracks to be told "don't worry mr ...., we will go take a look now and follow them"
So i stand and wait as they pull out of the car park to go round the block to follow the tracks, waiting, waiting, waiting............... nope, must of gone for doughnuts :grin2

I saw that car in the bushes, and I also saw Mr Bonnet go the other way on the dual carriageway stretch, I agree, one of those cops should've removed the debris in the name of road safety, there were plenty of them, it wasn't for evidence (as they let all the traffic go through). Nobody is saying its their job to clean up, but they could move it onto the verge or stick out some Police Accident signs.
Still, I reckon to pile through the roundabout and end up where he did he must've been ****ed and at least there were enough of them to breathalyse him!
