does it tell you what video format it is?

most phones record in MP4 which invariably means you need Quicktime to be able to watch it ;)

To play in Media Player you will need Windows Media Player v10 or later to play these as they are .mp4 format.

I think (dont quote me as i know mine wont work only) that an mp4 file from a phone uses the SAMR codec which you get from Apple, i have tried (using MP v10) to watch a phone video and it will play but without the sound (because the SAMR is the codec for it).

I havent bothered trying to download a codec specifically for it because i tend to just use AceCodecs Pro which pretty much covered everything anyway so the phone stuff just gets played with Quicktime.

But where there is a will there is a way Guv, you bound to hit it with one of these :)
