Probably the most underrated bike out there, when it came of age it was the quickest of all the 900cc class bikes and outpaced most of the litre ones too.
Not the best when it came to handling but bear in mind that this was a sports touring bike that was never built to compete with the likes of the Fireblade, yet managed to do just that by virtue of its power and looks.
The 99 C1 was more than a match for the R1, and it still takes an extremely good rider to out pace one of these beasts.
A bike that in real terms you pass and giggle at, but when it passed you on your top of the range sports bike, you look for the next side road to hide your embarassment in ;)
