Looking at the location I would say that it seems that its just a drain pipe to allow you to drain fuel out the float chamber, is there a screw on the other side????. Although I may be wrong being a import, Ive looked at the manual i have and there is no mention of the imported models.

The brass connection is the overflow for the float chamber.

I am asking where the two long black plastic pipes go ?? it looks from the bulge on the end of one of the black plastic pipes that it used to connect to something.

this is just a guess, but does the TZr have a seperate oil tank for the two stroke oil (by that i mean does it mix it itself or do you need to use premix oil and petrol?)

if it uses a seperate tank then surely one must connect to the oil feed and the other must be from the airbox to feed air into the float chamber to equalise the pressure in there (and its also to emulsify the oil/fuel/air mixture??)

The TZRR does have a seperate oil tank and that is connected to the other brass connector on picture Carb2.jpg just under the thick rubber water cooling pipe that connects to the carb.

Having been racking my brains, the Dell'orto website and god knows how many other nasty sites like Gilera etc, it would appear that the same carb is used on the Gilera GFR/Crono

So having had a look at one of their manuals, it would appear that at least one of the them pipes is definitely from the airbox, its an air feed to the float.

Where the other one comes from i am not too sure, but if it doesnt look like its been connected then i can only assume that its either a vent (to stop a build up of pressure from the air feed to the float) or it does indeed feed to something else to induce pressure from the other side of it (so it effectively drags air through it to equalise the pressure?)

Total clutch at straws at the last bit but the manual definitely says that one of them is an air feed for the float, so we must be pointing in the right direction.

If in doubt, you could try ringing the God of 2 Strokes, down in Kent, being Stan Stephens ?

They operate a technical line which you obviously pay for, but there isnt anything he/they dont know about strokers ;)

Thanks LateShift, brill bit of info.

Must admit I am supprised that one of the TZRR owners have not been on yet and had a chance to have a peek at their own bike for me.

In all fairness i think it started out as a TZR forum years ago but has gradually developed, its one of them things where someone will pop back and see a post and know something about it, thats whats so good about the place to be honest, but most of us around here (that reads me! :D ) never have enough to do in the day (thats me lying! :D ) and end up trawling whatever sites they use to try and find out what they can for others ;)

TZR,ZZR,RR whatever, its all about bikes innit :)

Very true.

Its strange that with all the power of the net at our finger tips, no-one has been able to find a full workshop manual for the Italian version on the Yamaha TZR 125R. I have come across countless people who are all searching for it but all they seem to find is the DT version or the owners hand book.

This may or may not help:

Ere I like that http://www.essexbikers.co.uk/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif guna take a while to read though.

The problem that I have is that the bike was damaged by a weak mixture because the previous owner put it back together wrong and I want to be sure that the three connections in question are correct to save another expensive melt down of the piston.

Thanks again for the link.

Thanks for all the help.

The correct answer is that they are both vents and just release excess pressure.
